How do y'all pass time when you're on the bench? Trying to figure out what all I can get away with
I've been laid off from D. I'm seeking a similar role, "Resource Manager" or "Engagement Staffing Manager". To summarize, the role entails working with business managers to help fill open roles, providing available staff, and forecasts, etc.; and working with practitioners as they near or land on the bench. Do other consulting firms, such as EY, PWC, Accenture, etc. have such positions? If so, what are titles do they have? I'm seeking alternative search terms.
Anyone else throw your luxury watches in the safe to wear nothing but a smart watch? Have multiple luxury pieces sitting on the bench since getting a smart watch. Wasted $$$$.
Hi 🐠 leaving the firm; how do I transfer my personal info from my work computer to personal? I watched the roll off instructions, but it wasn’t specific on file transfer. Eg can I email it to myself?
If it’s hard to find projects in summer cause it’s slow, and Nov-Jan cause it’s slow, then am I supposed to spend half the year on the freaking bench!?
WFH or Bench time does not mean unlimited "free work or labor without a charge code!" What is WRONG with some people?
If Obama was a consultant he would have been rolled off after 2yrs. Loved the empowering sales dialogue for client(country). But the plan went Red due to no execution and program delivery failed.
Is it appropriate as a first year associate to have a conversation with your PML about being rolled off a project if you feel you are getting no value from being there?
@Accenture fish, received a verbal offer and positive feedback after interviewing. Submitted to background check and verified it was completed. Still waiting for official offer letter. Is this normal?
As an Afghanistani male, I hate having to list 'Asian' on MBA applications. Given my name they probably think I'm Indian and the Afghani community is heavily underrepresented in business/tech/Finance
What’s should I expect to receive as a raise from S1 to S2? Firm is supposedly having a pretty good year
If it were the right opportunity (in terms of salary, title, etc) would you accept a job offer at a new firm given the current/near-term economic climate?
EY is applying for my H1B transfer and my role is in the Strategy practice. However, my LCA job title says Computer Analyst. Is this normal or is this an error? Anyone with insight? Thank you.
For pre-MBA associates (A-A promotes) in restructuring, are exit opps any different than those for post-MBA associates (which are apparently very limited versus analyst opportunities)? For anyone currently at these shops, any advice on how to move to a distressed fund after a year or two?
What does an Operating Partner at a PE firm make (base/bonus/carry/other benefits)? How hard is it to make that move as a big4 Manager/Senior Manager or is there another way in?
How much are total monthly payments of the house your own and live in (including mortgage PMI, insurance and property taxes) vs your salary? Mine is $4500 for a $186k salary.
What are your favorite questions to ask during an informational interview when prospecting for a new job?
Does anyone know the difference between Nexus and Global Entry? Nexus is half the price, but it looks like it has all the benefits of Global Entry. Too good to be true?
What is the best path to shift careers from operational consulting at a big 4 to asset management industry? PS:Already pursuing CFA but afraid of loosing on more years with no investing experience.
I have seven years' experience in executive search (based in APAC but have worked on global roles) and want to leave the industry for either an in-house talent role or a consulting firm. I haven't had much luck when I've applied for internal roles in the past. Do I have any chance at getting an in-house talent acquisition role, or is an executive search skill set just regarded as too weird/not the right fit for internal talent teams?
