8 YOE experience and "extremely" underpaid? I think maybe you're extremely overvaluing yourself. You can, but doesn't mean market will.

OP, your issue is likely selection bias for your sample of data points. People love to post / comment their salary when they are well-paid (without always mentioning the context of why they make more than the average consultant); they are less likely to comment with their salary when it is lower

Not going to like this answer, but the fastest way: lower your life expectations/demand, buy income-producing financial assets, repeat.
Likely labor’s share of income is going to suck for the next few years, so the best way is to get off the hedonic treadmill and get on the side of passive income.
Very true, covid messed everything up.
Change to a higher paying service line or MBA and then MBB / Strategy Consulting.
Switch to any tech company. I got 160k base and I only have 2 YOE. You’d probably get way more

Good for you! Gives me hope
Mega underpaid unless you’re in federal
Sounds like you're in federal. That's what I make with 15 YOE.
Change firms - you start encountering the lazy tax after three years - lateral hires always earn more when compared to home grown talent.
I had 8 YOE in a cloud product at D and was making $190k base. I moved to AMZN for a sr product manager role for $260k TC. I suggest getting cloud, tech and product management skills and moving to FAANG. I was making $130k with only 3 years of experience as a senior consultant so yeah it is low.

Are you an experienced hire?
Crazy, I was at 160 @ SC. I’m guessing you’re not S&O
