What do you mean do anything ? This is what they pay us for - industrial espionage

Just send the email saying if it was intended for the recipient. Saying you wanted to make sure. This points the manager to the problem and you come off as someone who pointed out a potential problem.

like

Then you should contact the ethics line. You are now aware of possibly illegal information. Don't assume the email chain will just stop suddenly.

like

Contact the client senior exec immediately Also speak to your cc to make if you get the slightest feeling that your own team is not taking you serious

like

How is your manager even allowed to work on two competing clients?

like

It was 100% intended to be sent to them and the data was from a competitor

You should.

Are you sure it's confidential and not sanitized in some way? If it is confidential, if you have an ethics line call it or better yet, talk to the MD responsible for this project or client. I've seen this happen accidently and go all the way up to the board and if it's intentional, I wouldn't want to be around if it blows up. I've seen the consultants who made the mistake disciplined and if intentional, fired. If your MD is aware and in on it, then you have a bigger problem and hopefully an ethics hotline. This is the shit that can cause lawsuits, end careers and put people in jail and I wouldn't want to be anywhere near it. Of course the client receiving the info is also thinking about how they don't trust you either since they wonder who else is getting their info. Just bad all around.

Sc1. Contacting the client senior exec is probably the last thing you want to do, but the firm leadership needs to be aware so they can make it right. The OP could make it worse by speaking with the client. Not really his or her role here.

Speak with MD.

@Mc1 I think other firms are not as strict as you guys regarding who can work on what from a conflict of interest pov. That being said, this does seem to violate the one golden rule of this industry around client confidentiality.

Second everyone saying you should report it, also strongly recommend you raise it to the Manager first so it seems less like throwing him/her under the bus

At ey1 Client senior exec is the lead accenture person at that client. Leave the client out of our mess

Thanks for clarifying. Guess I don't know the Accenture terminology for Engagement Partner.

Either way....shady shit is going on.

Hey Googlers, I’m going in for my GCP TAM second round on Monday and had a few QQs for you all: 1. For the RRK2 case study if there is a scenario for handling peak time workloads where the client did a lift & shift of a monolithic architecture, is the best suggestion to move them to micro services to enable serverless and auto scaling features? 2. I was told that they’ll give me 15 mins to prep after the case study is shared live, would you suggest I build a 1 pager or is that not required?Google

I have a family visit coming up next week that is looking likely to conflict with a major client deadline. Any ideas for how to frame this to the client? In house lawyers, is there an acceptable way your outside counsel could handle this situation? I am feeling so sad and stressed.

Im weighing two options with former managers that I worked with. Option 1: $114k (paycut from current salary); manager role overseeing a team of 7; great manager and work life balance /// option 2: $150k + bonus ; director role working with market leadership team so lots of visibility and if I do well can grow into more things. Work life balance should not be more than 50-60 hours a week but it was with a former micromanaging boss. I also have a toddler with most of the responsibilities
