Have faith in yourself. The stuff you’ve learned over the years will likely make an easy transition on the substantive side.

Admin and internal is always difficult to grasp. Luckily, KPMG has it the most difficult with different hoops to jump through.

Interested to see some perspectives - currently working at a Payroll & Benefits Specialist at a fast growing company and recently passed my PHR! I just started this role only a few months ago but am already feeling like I can take on more, but not as much as a HR manager. I’m struggling to understand where exactly it is I can go from here. I’m 25, have 3 years of experience, and get paid $59k/year.

Where does one go from here? Thanks in advance for any and all answers!

Does anyone have the 2020 SHRM books for sale or to borrow? My job won’t contribute towards my certification. I’ve already paid for my test. I have the books from 2015 but I’d like to study from the 2020. I tried finding them online to purchase but sellers of affordable books aren’t responding.

Folks recently joined P in the tech consulting practice. One one of the calls I realized that we are not really selling solutions but mostly staff aug for clients. Is that really how P does business? Coming in from big 4 this was a surprise to me. Given that most D and MDs are homegrown, probably used to this way of business, however we are not selling solutions is a concern in my opinion. Thoughts?

How do you cope when it feels as if every 6 months, someone you considered a mentor, a confidant, and a friend decides to leave the firm (yes I know you can still be acquaintances), but it’s really not the same when you can’t just ask off the cuff questions and vent over MS Teams; or hangout in the office or at LakeHouse; or commiserate about difficult clients, and in those moments, learning a great deal from that person who has been in your shoes and understands what you’re going through

Anyone else extremely concerned with the “takeover” happening in DFW? You scroll realtor anywhere in DFW and almost every single thing is pending. A house down the street for us went for sale last weekend and had over 200 people show for a two hour open house and had 34 offers in one day. When people actually get back to work the traffic is going to be like LA and I’m curious where all of these people are going to work when their CA jobs tell them they need to be back in the office.
