Let them fail... If they haven't gotten the message that they need guidance then they're not worth keeping
Get rid of them. It isn’t worth it and if you know they are a hack, then other creatives know as well. I’ve had the misfortune of working with several and I left these jobs, because my bosses did nothing about it. No one wants to work with hacks and you shouldn’t expect your team to work with them either.

This person may have their reasons for not wanting help. My advice would be to try and better understand what’s causing them to resist help. Is it a matter of their pride? Is it a lack of trust? Is it misunderstanding? Like advertising, we get better results when we take the time to understand what motivates our target before we attempt to change their behavior. Best of luck friend.
