Are you clear on the definition of fired? I believe their application is asking have you ever been fired for cause (so things like harassing others, stealing from the company, and other things against the law and/or company policy)? I’m assuming you were terminated without cause - something that many many others have experienced and is a total non issue and does not need to be reported
They did not give cause - I don’t remember exact wording but I think it was just “letting you go” - no severance or anything. I could call the contractor HR and ask for clarification just to be sure?
Separately I kind of wanted to be in touch with a previous supervisor who advocated for me just bc he knows the history; I’d love to get his opinion on local leadership etc. would it be inappropriate to reach out to him?
Do you really want to work for a company that supports harassment? If you don’t, then be upfront with it, if they are more aligned with your values it should be a point in favor, if not then it’s a dodged bullet
Thank you for this - I would not work for same division; it would be different leadership, but they could potentially be in touch with each other.
Why do you dentist gya charge a loooot??
That’s an odd application question, I’d steer clear just because of this question.
Why would anyone care if a candidate had been fired or not? This somehow implies the person who’s been fired is a bad apple…. while everyone knows people get fired for all sorts of reason including cases when management literally personally dislikes someone so they always find the reason…
I don’t think I’ve ever seen it… wondering if it’s specific to this particular industry? What’s the question behind the question then? Why do they need to know?!
