Just got an offer for 140k base with 5%-10% bonus at large media / tech company. I feel like this is a good offer but not sure based on what I see in this app. Current comp is 110k and 5%-10% bonus with 4YOE.
tired- hiring manager agreed on remote work (and being in office/client-side as needed) —> present case study —> hiring manager and team likes case study -> HR said I didn’t get job b/c I want remote
My flight from DCA-> TPA literally just had to abort takeoff to let a 12 year old boy deplane. Ready for a damn drink!
A lead on my team mentioned she is pregnant and she hasn’t made the news public and just informing me as a friend. we go live in summer, she won’t be due until fall but I feel project might need back up given the crazy hours in go live, should I inform SM or PPMD in confidence and look for an additional member? How do I go about this? Don’t want to betray her trust and at the same time do not want to risk project. Anyone been on this boat before?
On H1b. Planning to quit in September and then attend a friends wedding and leave the states within 60 days. Can’t take this job anymore and not really sure if it’s even worth it. Any tips or thoughts?
Hi, I’m a Manager at Monitor Deloitte India and am interviewing with Bain Middle East next week. They have indicated that they are looking to hire for KSA and Qatar offices (instead of Dubai). Question 1: How is Bain’s in Strategy consulting among other consulting firms in Middle East? Question 2: How would Bain Middle East compare to Monitor India? Question 3: How does experience in Middle East offices differ? Would experience in Dubai office be vastly different from experience in Doha/Riyadh?
Are we only allowed to purchase economy tickets for international travel (i.e. World Meetings)? Joined from another firm last year where we were eligible for First Class and not sure about travel policies at SKP... was curious!
Deloitte got pulled into a project with a manager I’ve gotten to know recently but I really am not interested in the project and it’s very different from my past project experiences. I think they picked me because they know me and the timing works out well. I don’t want to burn bridges by saying no to the project esp when they really need someone right now but I also have no desire to work on this for the next couple of weeks. Should I just suck it up or how do I go about this?
Have an interview coming up with the chief revenue office. The role I'm interviewing for is the head of NA HR supporting him. It's a maturing startup in hyper grow stage with aggressive revenue goals. Appreciate any pointers of things I should bring up and discuss that would give him the confidence that I'd be an excellent HR partner. What has come up to my mind is asking about his major challenges and his revenue attainment strategies, and what my views are of supporting him from people's side
Might be a paranoid mom question - my 16 month old is starting daycare next week. So far, I’ve had virtual interviews/meet and greet sessions with the daycare staff. Today we went in for our in-person orientation and I noticed that my child is the only non-white kid in his class of 8. Not entirely shocking, but in my head (and having seen pictures in their catalog) I was hoping there would be a little more diversity. Should I be worried about my kid feeling left out because he looks different?

Agonizing over whether to take 6 weeks of unpaid maternity leave. My son is 4.5mos old, so I’ve been home awhile. We can swing it financially, but would have to dip into savings. Opp cost is high...
Art director presents idea we were both tasked to do. The entire concept is mostly my idea, and has a key element that she did not like and almost refused to add. I basically pushed her to add it. It’s that part that the client actually loved, and when the meeting ended, everyone thanked her and congratulated her, and she said “thanks”without giving me a mention. Even our cd and account folks. Should i let it go?
Am I overreacting? My former boss texted me last night asking if I would be able to work on a landing page project over the night. For some context I left the company a month ago because I was severely underpaid and with no benefits. I’m 30 and I’ve been there for over 5 years paying for health insurance out of pocket and a 50k salary. I offered to help with a few side projects but now I feel like he’s leaning on me again and thinks because I’m so nice I’ll say yes and slave away for him anytime
