Hmm, my husband went through similar situations. He was my fiancé at the time. He went though 9 months rejections.
He needed someone to listen, so I listened. I also encouraged him to look at things from a positive angle. I never suggested what he should do. Trust that he is capable. Eventually he found a job pays almost twice of my income.
Thanks! I think this a great way to make him open up a little more! Will definitely try it!
I think going to therapy could help as well! Having challenges like that is really tough on your mind.
Does he need a resume/LinkedIn refresher? If so, it's worth it to find a coach to do that. His sadness, may lead to loss of confidence, which can lead to poor performance on interviews, and it can turn into a cycle. If you can get ahead of that, it'll help long term. Does he have a broader support network other than you? Having many people support him, build him up, that can also help. Random suggestions, I know, but there can be a lot of angles to address it and help him be his amazing self.
Thanks... I hadn’t considered activating a broader support network.. love the idea!
I know he is an incredibly smart person who will be an asset to any team he joins and has currently hot skills (software manager in BI and Analytics) but this string of rejections might be affecting his confidence. I want to help him but don’t know how to.
Does he need interviewing help? Practice with him. We all need help
