Maternity clothes must haves? First timer here.. Where did you shop for them?

If you’re still going to the client site a lot or have to be in the office then I recommend renting maternity clothes from le tote .. I would have totes ship to my hotel so I wouldn’t have to pack much either and then you don’t get stuck with a bunch of clothes after you’ve had the baby

Gap and Target sometimes have good basics for maternity like black pants, tees, bras, sometimes dresses.

This is more for casual clothes vs work clothes but if you plan to nurse, try to get some maternity wear that will double as nursing wear. Will save you from having to buy another wardrobe for nursing.

like

Yes, Empire line wrap dresses are particularly good for this. Flattering for bump and post partum mumtum, easy for nursing

Pinkblush, motherhood maternity, amazon. Don’t go wild, as everyone and every pregnancy is unique so you don’t know what your body is gonna do. For me, I didn’t really need maternity clothes till 3rd trimester. Must have for me were leggings and tank top with sweaters to layer (I was perpetually hot in pregnancy, I ran my AC at 65 😳)

Depends on how much you're showing but since no one has mentioned it, the belly belt is great when it's still early enough that your old clothes still fit but are a little tight around the waist (esp when you sit). With a longer tank/shirt, no one will notice...

I bought actual maternity clothes from the 2nd trimester, all from destination maternity. People advised against "pricey" mat clothes because I wouldn't use them but honestly I kept the work pants I got for another year post baby. They were so stretchy that they fit great even after I lost the baby weight, and I just enjoyed them so much that I didn't want to throw them out lol the jeans were also great for a few months after because the belly doesn't exactly just disappear after delivery. Having something to keep it all in while your tummy is shrinking back was very comfortable. So I'd say get nice quality items you actually will enjoy wearing because they will last.

like

Seraphine. Such cute clothes, albeit a bit more expensive.

Bare minimum I think a pair of black pants for work and couple of tops that cinch at waist and can be worn with a blazer. I bought a pea in the pod maternity black blazer which (as opposed to the ones I was wearing before that I barely able to button over my boobs pre-pregnancy) I think really helped hide the belly through midway of 2nd trimester.

Oh, in retrospect, I wish I had a couple of colder weather dresses to change things up so I didn’t feel so limited my rotation of tops under a black blazer (I had some summer dresses that were great, but no dresses for fall/winter/spring.)

Twill pants and jeans. Everything else I just wore shirts and dresses that were loose/stretchy/in a boxy silhouette. Don’t recall if I used regular or maternity leggings.

I wish i had done things differently. Bought truly stretchy/flexible items... cause i bought mat jeans i grew out of, dresses that fit for only a month or two... ugly ass shirts w flowers lolol...
Idk where to get them next time but gonna do something different next round, more flexible/ things you can REALLY wear throughout

Target maternity jeans $29 and so comfy. Also those yoga work pants. Found them on amazon and they’ve been great.

I only had few maternity cloth, I only bought new cloth when my line dress doesn’t fit.

I bought a few pairs of pants from Pea in a Pod (better quality IMO than motherhood maternity), had a couple tops and used Le Tote to rent tops and dresses. If you need any special occasion dresses (wedding or other event), check out Seraphine - on the pricier side but really pretty styles

Do you have Isabella Oliver? I looooooved her leggings. I don’t think I took them off from month 6 of pregnancy to month 6 after baby.

Her tops and dresses were also perfect for client site. And chic.

Gap has inexpensive basics, online though not in store

I got everything at Old Navy and Target. So cheap.

Found a most enlightening work on decolonial history with tons of TIL moments especially about Anti Colonial movements in Egypt, China, Japan and course India in the 19th and 20th centuries. Most histories this period often adopt a Euro-centric lens but this book flips it and tells the stories of these turbulent times from the vantage point of the pioneering Asian leaders like Tagore, Al Afghani, Kang Youwei etc. Lovers of Asian history would surely appreciate this book

I regret not having done my MBA from an IVY League B school. I have seen industry and HR professionals being biased towards people from IIMs and so on. While I am currently doing decently well, I can't help feel bad for experiencing the bias in terms of promotions and CTC.
Even the new/baby IIMs (some of which I have left to join my B school) are now given more importance.

How can I offset this bias?

Would you pick:

Or something else? Can I jog with the Thule chariot? Should I get the jogging stroller instead? Just don't want to get both and fill up the garage, but also want to like it enough to use it lots. Already have UppaBaby Vista as regular stroller.
