Maternity leave question - what happens to your vacation days when you are out on mat leave? Do you get to use them at a future date after your leave is over?

Not sure about EY, but what I understand from Deloitte is that leave and vacation are separate. So when using leave, your accrued vacation stays as is, however you won't accrue additional vacation so it literally stays where it is. When you return you can use whatever you have before the leave.

Ah, thanks D2. My thoughts were based on a seasonal eave of absence I took where I didn't continue to accrue vacation, so I guess it's different.

OP, for the 16 weeks fully paid maternity leave we accrue vacation time. And yes after you're done with disability time, ey 16 weeks, and family bonding time(if you're in CA) then you can use your PTO or sick days to stay with your baby longer just make sure your arms is updated.

Thanks EY1!

I've got an interview at Amazon (specifically AWS) for a non-technical position this week. Is AWS as bad as they say it is, even for non-engineers? 😅 Also, I never realized how mediocre AMZ's benefits are...what are some of the reasons (besides RSUs) that would make anyone work there over other tech companies???

Wanted to share this somewhere!! Recently hit $200k net worth at 27 as a daughter of low-income first gen immigrants. I know this isn’t a lot compared to others here but it’s a lot for me!! I don’t have a super high salary (making around $100k/year for last two years for benchmark) but have been saving and investing aggressively since I started working in 2018. Super excited and wanted to share 🙂 I’ve had minimal guidance from parents so resources like this group have been super helpful!

Hello fishes, I recently joined here. Could you please help me on the useful benefits or any other that we shouldn't miss availing in Oracle( ex:- medi claims, domiciliary wallet, meal cards ,stocks, expense reimbursement). Also please guide me on the options available for investment declarations to save tax. Also say if we will get yearly hikes. Read that there wouldn't be any hike at all in all of the reviews.

Expecting a baby this summer. Should I still be looking for other job opportunities? EY has a very generous paternity leave if you’ve been with the firm for 1+ years, but not sure if I would have the same opportunity to take 2-3 months leave if I switch jobs. Can I potentially work parental leave into negotiations?
