Maternity policy change question! I am a few weeks out from going on mat leave but just got an email today that our maternity policy is changing for 2023 and they’re adding another month. Given the timing I want to email HR and see if there’s anyway this can apply to my leave. Any tips/guidance/similar experiences? I’m brand side FWIW

This happened at my company as well. They added a month effective 10/1, my due date was 9/15. I checked the FAQs which explicitly stated I would not be eligible, but I asked anyway. They did not honor the formal extension, but they did offer me an additional 2 weeks of PTO that I could tack on at the end, so while it wasn’t the full month it was something 🤷‍♀️

I would think if you have not started your leave yet this would also apply to you but I’m sure they have it detailed in the terms. You should definitely ask.

From my personal experience, it depends on the effective start date. Worth asking to see if there are loopholes

I’d probably use this as a chance to ask/clarify that given the new policy for maternity leave is coming into effect in 2023, if you could apply the extra month to the end of your leave. And be sure to express how awesome this adjustment is - I think HR prob hears more complaints than praise, and this is definitely a positive benefit change at your company!

This happened for me—I was on mat leave when they extended it. They didn’t allow me to take those extra 5 weeks. I hope you can though!

Now i want to apply for job in MNCS. My CTC was 5.5lac in 2020 and in freelancing per hour i got $7. So should I tell company last CTC 5.5 or 10lac as per contract based?

My kid was born in the US and has a US passport. Both parents are Indian citizens. Thinking of moving back to India . 1) IT Industry - 85K Euros annuly for Finland &
2) Manufacturing Firm- 105K annualy for Germany- Near to Frankfurt location ( kind of bond for 3 years)

Both have 10% bonus component involved

Prefrences -
- Work life balance
- Family status as would be traveling with kid.
- Living conditions & Indian community

We’re expecting a second child in September! Quick poll for the bowl. I was recently offered continuation of a part time role that takes place three nights a week (teaching online for a university) to start in October. Been doing this for years, but my spouse would prefer I not work and instead spend time helping out with the newborn as well as assist with putting our current child with evening activities (5 yr old, bath, bedtime duties). Considering how intensely the OB office said I need my blood drawn at exactly 1 hour after glucose drink, would a 4 min blood draw delay skew my results? Not finding any current research.

Has anyone been diagnosed with a subchorionic hematoma/hemorrhage in their first trimester ? How did it go for you- did it go away, stay without impact, or lead to a miscarriage ? It’s basically a form of internal bleeding- I’m super high risk already (44 yo, IVF)- but it increases the likelihood of miscarriage even more. Thanks!
