Hello Nooglers, is it possible to internally switch at Google from TSE (AI/ML) to core ML domain? If yes, how and how much time a person would require to work at TSE position? I received interview call for TSE position so I was wondering if this could be a possibility or not.

Return back to mathematics unless you want to regret it later when it will be harder to turn back to square 1. I think in most cases such a career will not be intellectually stimulating for someone with a major in Mathematics, and it is only offering pretty much average financial rewards in most cases.
If you have mathematics I feel like picking up coding or going to graduate school might suit you better. I’m sure you’d miss some research stuff or just solving differential equations or proving some functions and sets :)
Use your mathematics degree to pick up data science or analytical skills. With those skills you can possibly get into cyber risk modeling work, it’s a untapped territory.
Depends on the company really. I was bought on as cyber security consultant and then promoted to senior specialist because of my background in data. I just think it’s a good safety net as cyber field is really volatile, if that path fails you can still rely on good ol data science.

Cyber is extremely rough burnout is about 24 months you should see that in all the research you do.
