Maxing our my 401k this year, starting my wife in a 403b (she also has DB pension plan), and now looking for what’s next. Relatively novice at investing but any suggestions? Roth? HSA?

All of the ones you stated. HSA first if available to you and your family. Then Roth IRA (regular or backdoor depending on your income). If you already have traditional pre-tax funds in IRA, I advise you to roll those into your/your wife's 401k so you are able to do backdoor Roth's. I assume you plan to earn above the income limits at some point.

Roth IRA comes before 401k

I’m finally able to max out my 401k and Roth IRA, and I will be opening a taxable account. I’m just confused on what to put into it. I’m 26 and open to being more risk tolerant. I was hoping some of you could share what’s in your taxable accounts and offer some advice based on my current allocation. 401k: - 80% Vanguard Institutional Total Stock Market Index Trust - 20% Vanguard Institutional Total International Stock Market Index Trust Roth IRA: - 50% VOO - 25% VUG - 25% VGT

23 here. Just switched to start making contributions from traditional 401k to Roth 401k and am contributing to try to max out by EOY. Company match is only 25% up to 6% so past company match. Should I lower % of paycheck to 401k and allocate some retirement savings to Roth IRA? I assume ideally I max out both, but idk if I am comfortable putting that much into retirement with uncertainty of current economy. Is it better to tie up money in Roth 401k or Roth IRA?

currently putting 10% into 401k (d matches 6%), should i contribute 6% for 401k and then open roth IRA where there’s greater selection of funds?

How much money do you need to make a year to afford a $3 million dollar home, pay for 2.5 future children’s private school education, vacation well, and live and retire comfortably? (I have no students loans or debt and $650k in stocks + a modest amount in 401k. I’m 26.)

After years in Wealth Management, since I keep seeing questions about what to do with cash: Places to put extra money for the majority of people: 1) Paying off high-interest debt - anything over inflation, tax adjusted. This is your credit cards at 8-27%. This is not your 3.5% mortgage. 2) Free money - anything you get matched. At a minimum, get your matching. 3) Tax-free money (your Roth 401k/IRA, 529s for kids, HSAs) 4) Tax-deferred money - Traditional 401ks, Real estate, etc.

Should I use traditional pre tax 401k or roth 401k? My employer matches up to 4% for either. I’m currently 24, salary is $90K and I’d expect it to definitely increase in the future. Roth 401k sounds like the right choice but just asking here.

Any recommendations to educate myself on IRA - Roth, Traditional? SO and myself have a gross income of 170K annually. We max out 401K, keep some for our rainy day and put the rest in ETFs over robinhood and spend the remaining. We have decent returns and own a home. But feel like I could restructure things better
