Are interviews with a hiring manager generally the final round? Have the hiring manager interview soon but it’ll only be the second time speaking to someone at the company. It is a very small ~5 person group though.

Is it common to exit from Big 4 privacy to a privacy role at a tech company? I have a law degree, but I would prefer to not be in a counsel role.

I'm currently in the non-profit space as an HRBP. I manage over 30 reqs and am struggling keeping up with the full responsibilities of a recruiter and hrbp. I spoke to my manager and she said it's normal for an hrbp to have at least 50 reqs. I've never seen this type of model at ANY of my previous employers. Is this common?

Tonight my wife threw water at me, called me a loser (second time this week but who’s counting) and told me she didn’t wanna be with me. All because while she was out I walked on the treadmill and “omitted” telling her that when she came home. Low billable, low pressure work in patent lit, tech trans or privacy law? Slowly realizing that as my boys get older, the money isn’t worth what I’m missing out on. Currently a patent litigation associate with lots of hearing, depo and trial experience (I’ve appeared on my own at hearings/depos) at a well respected firm. Have my CIPM and CIPP/US /E and /C. I am an hourly employee. Currently if there is a hospital call that needs to be done, someone will volunteer to do it for overtime. Now, my company wants to create a set call schedule. If we get a call at 5pm, when my shift ends, can I still be required to complete the call? I will be paid overtime but don’t like the fact they will force it upon us.

Has the blush come off the rose for this shining city on a hill? Have any other foreign fish in the US been asking yourself why we made the conscious decision to seek out a life in this country? The racial tensions and frequent shootings (including a much covered grocery store that I used to frequent) are outweighing the benefits of staying here. Never have I had to worry this much about going to the grocery store. The reaction of society here towards these issues is also dismal. Is it worth it?
