As holidays come around, the family has upped their questions about when we are having kids and why we haven’t yet. I am embarking on egg freezing soon and I got some unpleasant news today after a scan. I had a scan 2 months ago and my follicle count was slightly low then. As I was on birth control at the time, I had to go off it and repeat the scan two months later. In the 2nd scan we found that I only had 6 follicles and that we would only be able to get 4-6 eggs per cycle. I am 36 and I decided to start this process now more just as backup. Docs say if this doesn’t work they recommend I move onto other options so I want to give it a fair shot. My clinic will fill out fMLA / medical forms but not sure who ultimately decides the duration. How predictable is IVF vs conceiving naturally? Would we theoretically have more control in a sense of getting pregnant exactly when we want to (give or take a few months) by having frozen egg/embryo ready to go in advance? Trying to plan around a very strict residency timeline is tough
