I was recently laid off due to being in web3 but the market tanked and screwed me. My background is aerospace quality engineering and digital transformation / product management. 4.0 MBA from ERAU.

It’s been almost 2 months now.. and it’s starting to really break me down mentally. I feel like I’m just not having much luck since my credentials are solid I feel. I have a second job interview with fidelity and currently waiting to hear back from AWS.

5 rounds of interviews and final interview case study and I get the dreaded thanks, but no thanks email and feedback that I did have the desired experience for the role. Why take up 6 weeks of my and their teams time? I am amazed by the amount of “waste” and “cost” an agile / lean company would burn through on a candidate they see as unsatisfactory. I Meh!

Giving notice next week to someone who went out of her way to recruit and hire me away from my old firm and has been really good to me. She worked for over a year to get me to come over. I don’t know if it’s because my last position was as an art director and they’re just confused or if I seem not as enthusiastic about the role as I should be but it’s definitely disheartening because I’m unemployed and I need to get back to work. Thoughts on joining a boutique consulting firm during this economy? Is it typically viewed as safer or riskier than bigger firms? Sorry if this is a dumb question.
