McGregor saw the $$$ from the Pacman fight and figured why not get knocked around for a few rounds for tens of millions of dollars.
McGregor doesn't have to win to beat Mayweather. Just touch him had enough a few times. As the underdog he can still claim a victory of sorts and then just call out Mayweather to come to his house for a few rounds. That's what people aren't factoring in.
Mayweather would never do a ufc fight and no one would expect him to. But the boxing match is looking like it will happen. Too much $$$ not to

McGregor will take chances no professional boxer would and will not care about the number of times his knee hits the ring or he gets knocked down, etc. As long as he can give the people a show. He will put everything into his punches - Mayweather can slip or dodge normal boxers- this will be very different for him. Mayweather people better be extra careful about the terms for McGregor to get paid.

41 YO that hasn't taken a ton of punches and is still quicker than anyone else in the boxing world. I am still tying to think of what would constitute a football contest. Maybe drills that gauge pass rushing abilities and run stoping abilities
