Don’t be afraid to aim very very high for your transition. Don’t aim for something just because it’s “easy transition” from your last role.
This! I’ve seen a few folks transition to a consulting role that was aligned to their previous experience vs what they wanted to do. They were lured in by the compensation and culture of the firm before realizing way too late that the work was not what they wanted. It seems like they had to step a few steps backwards before moving forward into a role they liked, but they were 2-3 years behind their MBA peers.
Take time to enjoy it, it was a blast and goes by so quick
-Travel, including study abroad if you can make it work at some point. Maybe next year due to the pandemic.
-Make and try to keep connections. Related to this, don't spend too much time with non-bschool friends and family if you're in/near someplace you've lived before.
-Try to find a spouse. You will rarely be surrounded by as many young, smart, single and more attractive than average people! Look beyond the bschool; there may be another grad student on campus who is right for you.
Yes! All of this!
When I went I’d already been in consulting so I intentionally said I would not “work” outside of 8-5 M-TH, and past noon on Friday. The classroom was definitely not even in my top 3 priorities. Made deans list most quarters. Grades don’t matter, go make memories

Have fun - there’s a lot more to learn than simply what’s written in the text books (I assume those are still a thing?)

Don't forget to party 🎉
I’m at kellogg lol, no one is forgetting to party here
So much fun, I definitely miss the experience! Like others have said, there is more to it than just class/homework, definitely be social and take advantage of chances to network and get involved in different clubs. Also, it’s likely some (not all) professors have industry experience and aren’t just pure academics, get to know them. Could open doors career-wise as well.
