I was laid off from a resource management role, working with employees approaching or on the bench, working with managers to staff projects, and support functions like report creation, scheduling, etc. Roles like this are few and many large consulting firms have frozen internal hiring. Do you think it would be beneficial to get a SHRM cert? Would that help get a "talent related" HR role? Worth the money? I have a background in recruitment as well.
I don't get the point of getting an MBA. I feel like there's nothing b-school can teach you that you can't teach yourself... and networking is feasible without the help of an overpriced university.
Quite disappointed that Bain ignored “LGBT” term and instead referred it as “special group” during a Greater China pre-MBA info session, when asked whether Bain has LGBT diversity program. Bain changed its logo into Pride on LinkedIn but can’t recognize LGBT? I know it’s China, but expect Bain to be more supportive across the firm globally.
Applying for MBA with 4 years of professional experience and hoping to move into IBD. Is it too late to make the move?
Finishing up Leadership Dev Program-IT (rotational program: roles included Analyst, SM, PO, Dev, Engineer) with GEICO and looking to post out into the Cyber Security (in DMV area). What firms I should be looking into which values LDP and future growth in the Cyber Arena.
Why does McKinsey hire at Associate level post MBA. Bain and BCG associates don’t have MBA.
I have a friend interviewing at Deloitte with 7 years of industry experience + MBA. They told him they’ll interview for him as a Consultant and if he does well level him up to SC. Any tips on what they look for during SC interviews vs. C (I interviewed as a C so I don’t really know)

Hi fellow PE fishes, seeking career advice. Currently in an APAC based LMM/MM PE focusing on tech and had joined the firm straight out of school. I intend on sticking to PE long term, but am curious about my career and financial trajectory in 3 cases. 1) stick to my current firm and eventually make partner 2) go for a Master’s degree and then move to an UMM/MF PE or MBB -> UMM/MF 3) Stay in the current firm and start my own fund with other Associates in the future.
Folks who have been naturalized -- is it really necessary to bring printed copies of tax returns or evidence of your international trips to the interview? I've read about people bring several years worth of tax returns but nowhere does it say on USCIS.

What is your opinion on GARP financial Risk Manager (FRM) certificate? I am considering taking it (as I am FS Risk Consulting), but I am not sure if it really carries benefits. Apparently it is quite a tough study. Is it worth the time or should I invest my time elsewhere? Also do you have learning material you are willing to share :D?
HR keeps trying to paper me up with speed to output crap because they think I’m sick, but the reality is that I’m terminal and probably won’t be around to see the end of this. God I hope they don’t pretend to put up a caring memorial when I’m gone.
Risk of getting fired as a new experienced hire in HC with solid 3 ratings and tons of impactful PRD, but on the bench for too long?
So my client is “business casual” but everyone typically wears suits without the tie. How do you guys structure different outfits? I feel like I’m running out of clothes already and need to buy more

Received a job offer which includes profit sharing (not guaranteed unless company hits a certain mark) and was told there is no performance bonus. Is this something I can negotiate and ask for? I’m not sure if it’s common to have both profit sharing and performance bonus.

A couple days ago was emailed by my SM who cc: another SM and our MD on the account. They were thanking me for all the hard work I’ve been doing. Our MD said it was great to see a new team member playing such an important role. I replied bla bla. They then talked about how they world set up time to talk about my future on the project. For context I’m a campus hire 3months in on a tech implementation. I don’t see myself on this project long term doent align with my end goals. Should I express

I was finally received an offer my dream position and I am thrilled but the on boarding process will be delayed by 6 months. However, I also applied for the same position two years ago and was rejected. This time around, I reached out to an internal contact who helped me get an interview. I am kicking myself for not reaching out sooner, two years ago. really sad about it.
Hi Tax Bowlers, I'm an experienced associate (2yrs) in a Big 4 Transfer Pricing division. I have reached a point in my career where I am considering taking up a professional certification. Several colleagues recommended taking up either ACCA or CFA, however, I see little connection between these certifications and the work that I am currently doing, and what I plan to do in the future. What would you guys suggest? Would it be detrimental to my career if I did not take up any certifications?
