So, a recruiter gave me feedback that my lack SPHR or SHRM-SCP is causing my resume to be knock out by AI and human recruiters despite my position and work history in Multinationals and being in Technology. They suggested that we put SPHR ( Lapsed). I let it lapse in 2017. What is your opinion? Plus if I were to take another certification - should I take SPHR or SHRM-SCP?

Hi everyone! I’m an S1 in tax at a Big 4 in NY (only been here for a few months). I was recently offered a chance to join a long term engagement (at least one year) for a massive new client. I’ll only be focusing on the tax provision aspect for them. They’re building out a team just for this client from scratch. Do you think this is a good project to be on? Any negatives or drawbacks? Publicly traded corporation to which we provide tax services only. No attest services, so technically independent. Can we purchase shares? Asking for a friend.

If you have to pay back a sign on bonus do you get back the withholding on it when you file your tax returns? For instance if the sign on bonus is 10k, there si withholding on that. So you actually receive 6k (assumption). But if you leave the company you pay back 10k no? How do you get the 4k back?

SM @ regional firm with 12+ years of public accounting experience. Promo seems too slow or doesn't exist for someone who does not bring in new clients at my current firm. Since I mainly work with private companies, my option to industry is limited. Should I consider joining big 4 to increase my chance of promotion? The good thing about my current employer is that there is no up or out policy.
