My wife and I work at the same company and are at the same level, doing the same role, though different departments. She gets paid 15% less than me. I joined after her and didn't know her salary. We've been living with this for a while, and she's gone back asking for a pay bump but been denied, but she did not mention that she was married to a man who had a different pay rate. Should she go back again and mention that? She was hesistant to bring our personal lives into it, but I thought she should call that out specifically. I'm not sure what I should do on my side.
Company approved me hiring my first (non-lawyer) direct report! Excited to cross this off my professional bucket list but I know hiring is the tip of the iceberg. What books, articles, general pro tips, etc. do you all recommend for "being a good boss" advice, esp. geared toward a first time boss?

Hi Fishes I am working as a CRM associate/Data Analyst in BIG 3 consulting firm with 4 years of exp. I will complete my executive MBA next month. I have worked in the HR space for the past 9 years, however most of my experience has been in Talent Acquisition. I do want to move into a People Operations/Generalist role. I’m planning to go for a HR certificate but unsure if I should go for a PHR or SHRM. Please advise!
Any insight on getting MBA from mendoza as far as prospects for transitioning into a post-mba strategy consulting role? It’s ranked outside the top 15 but from research seems like it still sends plenty of grads to top consulting firms (not MBB)
My department head mentioned to me that there may be a high school teaching position opening in the future and they think I'd be good for it. I'm not sure I'd want to make the change because I've only ever taught middle school, (14 years!), and wonder how big the change in student attitude and behavior would be like? This year though, the kids I have are really draining and it's got me thinking. Would high school students be the same crazy behaviors or would their maturity make a big impact?
Has anyone taken the CCSK? I joined the CCSK foundation bundle course this will be my first cloud cert I know it’s open book.

Have a call with a recruiter today where I’m 95% sure I will receive an offer. If the TC is less than what I’d like, should I be hesitant & counter on the call itself or ask to take some time to fully look into the comp and then counter over email? Not sure what common practice is.
I worked at a large insurance defense firm for 4 years out of law school. I really enjoyed the work itself, but the hour expectations kept increasing and I was getting burnt out. I decided to try a new type of law and have been at the new firm 3 months. I have way less responsibilities and none of my own cases. I’m worried this was a wrong move/too far of a step backwards. I know I don’t see myself here long term, but I’m not sure how long I need to stay to avoid looking like a job hopper—help!
About to sign an offer at a fintech for 125k , 7.5k sign on 20% bonus. (2 yoe). A few consulting firms (ACN/EYP) just reached back out about final rounds. Is it worth trying to get more offers or nah

I have been doing a lot of strategy work and am considering taking on a Post-merger integration (PMI) project within the healthcare space. I have been on mostly 2-3 month strategy projects (average ~ 50-55 hours / week). If I take on this PMI project, should I suspect my hours to be around the same, or increse drastically?

For the LGBTQ+ lawyers, if your firm offers reproductive assistance, how did you start the process of planning to start a family? Are there better years as an associate to target having a child? How do you (or should you) approach it with your partner leadership, or should you just dive right in with the HR contacts? Any advice would be really appreciated!
