I'm sure others would disagree but I just don't understand why you'd get an MBA and go back to the same job... If they pay for it and get a big raise it might even out but don't think that's how it works
I would only do it if you are trying to pivot in your career and translation to something else
If your firm pays, you get two years off to make friends with awesome people, learn some stuff and travel. That part can't be overlooked.
Definitely think it's worth it if you can get into a top 10 school. 150k of education for free plus a must have rubber stamp for some career paths down the road.
DO it. Best 2 years of my life, returned and got almost double pay. But only go if you get top 10. Afterwards you'll find yourself more confident talking to older people/execs, having more exit opportunities, and giving less shits about minor things that used to bug you in consulting. Regarding reimbursement, there is an ex-Deloitte tax lady who helps you get more money back via marking your school as a business expense, so you minimize the loss. It is only applicable if you return to the same line of work.
Would you return to the same service area?
Most likely, yes
Y'all know it isn't free, right? The reimbursement counts as taxable income so not only do you have to pay the interest on the loan you take out but you only get 60% of your tuition back. It's still a great deal, just not free...
If you like fun, going to b school is an absolute no brainer.
Yes, better have fun and be broke while you're young
U can probably google it too- it's commonly used for finance or consultants who go through a sponsorship agreement
