Hello,
Last Wednesday I was able to get a Deloitte job referral, I applied the next day. Yesterday I signed in to my account and it shows that I applied for the job but when I click on the link it show me an error page. I searched for the job on the website itself and it disappeared. There were like multiple positions but different locations, now they’re all expired. What does this mean? Did they choose a candidate already? It’s weird it never happened to me before
Thank you in advance 🙏🏻

Be a normal person
Don’t dominate the conversation...those students are the worst.
There’s nothing to prepare for... have a normal conversation with them. Be friendly, don’t speak over the other ppl in the room.

MBA or undergrad? Same rules apply for either - just be nice and normal. No one likes a tryhard who speaks over others; coffee chat won’t get you in but it can easily knock you out
Thanks all. If they’re using this as a means to narrow down the pool, there must be something that they’re looking for aside from being friendly and not aggressive. Anything else you think might be useful? Guessing I should come prepared with a one minute intro about myself and 2-3 questions?

We don’t use them to narrow down the pool unless you do something egregious (hog conversation, rude to others). You don’t need to prepare a one minute intro unless it’s hard for you to remember your name and major and maybe one fun fact. Have a couple of questions to ask and go with the flow. Don’t ask boring things you can find on our website (when are applications due? What is a case interview?). Ask them for stories, what they like and dislike, what they wish they’d known at your age and before applying. That sort of open stuff.
B1 - MBA. Thanks for the advice!
SC1 - why do you say that??

Cool. They can be awkward if they’re 3 students on 1 consultant or whatever but I wouldn’t worry about them too much! Just be personable, get to know folks at events, show interest, etc.
i hate the group coffee chats, super awkward especially with things virtually. Just go in and show up, smile, nod and ask a question when there is a pause, build on others, but other than that don’t mess up because it can only hurt you
The coffee chat is probably a tactic to get YOU to want to join the firm by answering your questions and meeting someone that works there. Don’t always assume they’re looking for something. They realize you are applying and interviewing at different places and this can be another data point for you to make your decision

I’m also surprised they’re doing coffee chats? Our office’s policy is all virtual (both bc of schools and bc of Bain)
It’s McKinsey specifically. Just thought I’d broaden the question to get more advice.
Any smart & genuine questions to ask?
