Am curious since I’m just starting to learn about MBB and consulting in general, how long does it take for a BA to get to EM? Heard someone going from one to the other within 2year time frame, was wondering if that is even achievable

MBB folks, what project mix are you getting these days? Lots of growth strategy, market entry, due diligences and operational efficiency? Or stuck in PMO land?

Hello! I'm starting an MBB consulting job this spring and I want to make sure that I spend & save responsibly.

Here are some questions I have:

What's a reasonable percentage of monthly net income to spend on rent in a HCOL city? Right now it looks it will be 37% but that seems high.
After clearing debt, 6 mo emergency fund, maxing 401k contributions, what's next? Mega backdoor Roth IRAs seem a little overwhelming, maybe something like a HYSA or just a trading account?

Is strategy consulting (even MBB) losing it's charm nowadays with the world moving more towards implementation projects and better opportunities available outside which have good pay as well as better WLB?

Something like what happened with IB roles which were all the rage in B Schools few years back but now have tapered off a lot.

What are the daily hours like for larger transformation cases at MBB - are they less burn than traditional “strategy” cases and if so by how much?

So I have two offers on the table : Tuck vs Yale SOM. I am getting 40k scholarship from Tuck and nothing from Yale.

I'm planning on going into consulting afterwards and am not sure what school to attend. I know Tuck's group oriented teaching is slightly more geared towards consulting.

What has been making me hesitate is the global presence of what Yale has in its name.

Would you say Yale has almost equal chance of getting into MBB as Tuck?

Amazonians who joined on 11 oct 2021. Did you guys received any news from manager regarding increments and base revision.

My previous role was TL role but in TCS I have been offered initially AST role for which I was very happy but later while document verification HR identified a gap in the experience and have changed the role to IT analyst but the salary hike was not reduced . How long would it take for me to get promoted to AST role. I re-checked with HR if my role is still going to be a TL role after getting hired she mentioned 'yes' but there will be project specific roles.
