Lol damn sooooon
Do in-house roles have conflicts checks?
McKinsey and BCG, you guys are broken and making us all look bad. Get some talent and some senior people in execution. Stop with the inexperienced nonsense. Quality and results driven work or fold up shop. https://www.washingtonpost.com/health/2021/08/22/private-consultants-vaccination-drive-outsourced/
Any book recommendations?
I have no idea what that sentence means
What is a SBA
Like 1 yr exp, 2 yrs
And yes we are increasingly hiring laterals though you will probably start entry level
Senior Business Analyst (at least at ATK) means that you've been at the firm for 1-2 years and have gotten a promotion from the entry-level position
Lateral business hire at Senior Business Analyst level at a tier 2 firm (I assume Big 4, Accenture, etc)
You don't make the cut for mbb. Look at the way you write.
Yeah - we do lateral hires like that. Generally salary will be even or better but will be with entry level position, like BCG1 said
Salary for us will be set at entry level levels. We have standardized pay
I've seen a few laterals but they always stepped down. Post mbas start as associates (entry level post MBA role), bachelors only start as new analysts. The only exceptions I've seen are at the partner level, but I've never seen anyone come in as a manager etc
If you're pre-MBA, you'd likely come in as an associate (out undergrad entry level). That's not a bad thing. You don't want to be compared to our A2s right away. They've got similar experience but know our firm, our methods, and have a network already. High expectations. Besides, it's only 2 years from entry formats post-MBA role (and comp).
Have you guys seen a lot of MBB laterals? We recently had a guy from BCG start as a 2nd year BA after being an associate for a year so I guess for MBB laterals you can come in at the same level? Have ya'll seen that for you too?
To clarify - salary will be a step up from your current big 4, but same as usual starting salary - sounds like same thing across MBB

I hold a masters in economics and just started working with Deloitte as a first job. What level should I expect to come at and how many years of experience should I apply after?
Lateral hires are pretty rare in my office / region. We have more than enough coming in via campus recruiting.
Have only seen MBB laterals at PL (2 ppl) and Partner (pure commercial poaching).
With exception of partner-level, not really. I'm sure it happens but I'd figure it's more an exception than the rule. Feels like most people's view would be that they're already at a top mgmt consulting firm...if they're going to leave, it's for the right industry exit, not more of the same but with different people.
