Did anyone in n mid 40s with kids jump back into consulting after going to industry? At this age, whats the best way to position myself for MBB?
Is the MBB Sponsored MBA worth it? Hi I’m going to be working full-time at an MBB soon and have been thinking about pursuing an MBA in ~3 years. If I can continue receiving promotions, is the opportunity cost worth it? Is it better to leave MBB after those 2-3 into an industry role? Also, is it too ambitious to say I want to earn $1MM/YR? Would exiting to industry be a faster way to do it than consulting? Thanks McKinsey & Company Bain & Company Boston Consulting Group
Help me fill in the blanks: M7 MBA = MBB + Big 4 HBS = McKinsey Wharton = Bain Stanford = ??? Kellogg = Deloitte Sloan = ??? Columbia = ??? Booth = ???
White male, 2 years MBB, 770 gmat, 3.8 in math/Econ from non-ivy top 10. Do I have a shot at H/S? Would it be easier or harder at one in particular?
Leaving MBB was the best decision I ever made. I know many view it as a professional pinnacle, but it's not the end-all, be-all it's hyped up to be. If you haven't been able to make it, try again if you'd like, but don't let MBB define your career. It's not worth it. Plenty of other amazing firms out there.
Is there a substantial disadvantage being at a DD heavy non-MBB firm (LEK, EYP) compared to MBB for PE recruiting? Would it be worth lateraling to MBB 1 year out of undergrad for better PE exit opps or is the difference not enough to warrant starting again at entry level at MBB?
Our base salary increases were cut in half and bonuses cut by a third. MBB should be renamed BMB
Do not mean this as a satire. Genuinely curious. How does the prestige in industry works for management consulting? I am thinking 1. MBB 2. Deloitte and Strategy& 3. Big 3/OW/BAH/ZS Correct?
How "prestigious" are NYC offices? Is an NYC Office at a Tier 2 > than a BFE office at MBB?
Anyone at MBB looking to make a referral?
Considering going back to consulting because tech feels stagnant in terms of career trajectory & pay. Have a T2 offer but want to try for MBB too. Am I deluding myself with the allure of the exit opps from consulting? Should I take the T2 or hold out for MBB?
Just started at a tier ii but received a MBB offer slated to begin in 2020. I lateraled from another tier II so it would be 3 consultancies in 6 months... any advice to handle?
MBB folks - is anyone worried about layoffs, especially now that start dates seem to have been pushed, etc?
Just had an interview with a jeopardy multi day winner, multiple degrees and majors from top schools, ex-mbb, and held a major position in a major US city governance, while now being a director at a F50 company. All before the age of 35. Makes me just so feel so dumb and insignificant despite knowing that's probably not healthy haha. Anyone else have a similar experience? What was that peron's background?
First year MBA candidate here at a M7: highly recommend, unless you are career switching, to reconsider doing an MBA. The caliber of people here is disappointing, particularly compared to MBB talent
I hear a lot about how MBB really starts to pull away from T2 at the Manager level. Anyone have numbers for total compensation for PL/EM/CTL at MBB?
Stories of people who were counselled to leave MBB and went on to be a bigger success? Need some motivation 😩…
There was a time when MBB used to be flag bearers of driving changes into the way business was done. Do you believe tech has taken that crown away from them?
Curious to know - how feasible it is to get an offer for the MBB U.S. office from China, assuming from a non-MBB vs. MBB consulting firm? Obtained U.S. work authorization already.

Lady 🐠: how do you deal with emotional swings during that time of the month? Currently experiencing constant need for crying and am so afraid to breakdown in front of manager
Anyone taken the pay day to switch between competitors (ACN, Deloitte, PwC, etc.)? If so, what kind of raise / bonus did you get? I'm a new consultant making ~$95k. Also interested in MBB figures.
Am I misunderstanding something or does 160k seem low even as a base cap for Amz? I get at the senior level most TC comes in RSU and bonus but I was still shocked today to learn 160k was the true cap previous to today.
Anyone know any good resources for learning to recruit out of consulting? So much info online about getting into consulting, not much about finding the best exit ops
Curious to see what junior staff thinks separates good mangers vs shitty managers. Example: Too much micro management on deliverables, etc
Friend never paid me back in multiple occasions: 1) went to Vegas together and she did not pay me for 2 nights room charge 2) Booked a rental car for her and it somehow charged me, she did not pay me back. She's now visiting a place near my town and she's asking me to come over, she said she will pay for the hotel room but she asked me to book it and said she will Venmo me. Should I trust her?
Choosing to be homeless for the next 3 months. Pad rented out to airbnber. Hopefully my project will keep me on for that time. I’m single, no kids and homeless. And loving it. #homelessconsultant
Folks from wealthy families, let's say household income of 400K+, what did your parents do? Do you aim to reach that same level?
Started in DC, caught NYC flight, put on hold midair, sent back to DC, can't land cause 'can't find airstrip', low on fuel, 'let's try diff airport', land further south than when you woke up...#delta
