I love my job. The job changes a lot at big promo points though, so I think of it as "definitely staying to the next promo point and then I'll see" rather than "definitely staying as long as possible"
+1 on the post above. I’ve yet to do PEG though (I’m a C2)
I’ll probably stay unless and until Bain fires me.
I wouldn’t say I “love” the job, although I do find it interesting and don’t think there’s a real job out there that I actually would love. The day-to-day isn’t bad once you get the hang of it. It definitely gets better once you start getting direct reports.
Also, there’s very few opportunities outside of MBB where the comp increases are as rapid and well-defined (outside of pivoting to a totally different career). I’d love to work in industry, but the comp and progression is just too slow for my taste. Frankly, MBB partners make significantly more than the execs who buy their services.

I like the job, I hate the hours. But I don’t work anymore than my spouse in medical school and I’m getting paid over 200k to do it, so I will tolerate it as long as I can.
senior partners? 5??! I need 8.5. That means I wouldn’t even make it to manager lol

I'm entirely with B2. Couldn't have said it better myself.
You'd struggle to beat the Expected Value NPV of the offer over time.
ohh 30% involuntary...means either lacking client skills or team management skills
Lunch at computer (if not like a 15m sit down in another room), about 90% of the time.
Bad projects: 8-11p with 1-2h for “off time”
Good projects: 8-8p with 1-2h off

Well yeah Friday is meant to be for office stuff, catching up with peers, internal meetings, etc.
I work for money.
💁🏻♀️ love everything except the lack of full control over hours. I’ve had a good run, with 55-60/week, only 65-70 in rare cases, but it’s still client services and unpredictable at the end of the day.
If I jump, it would be for an operational role. strategy is cool but I get more energy seeing stuff come to life (which usually I do at bain, since we stick around for a bit after doing the initial strategy, but I’m still not the end decisionmaker at the end of the day - the client is).
