Which MBB do you work for, PWC1?
Bcg1 is a d-bag
@PWC1, because the OP was asking MBB people directly if you read the post. Maybe the "P" is silent in MBB
PwC 1 - I really appreciate your enthusiasm. For how long have you been doing consulting?
Depends on your group & demand. I'm currently on a year long engagement that kept getting extended. I've been on previous similar projects too. But I've also have been on two week engagements.
OP - I find 12-20 weeks a representative range. Of course there are always shorter cases as well. DD for example.
It would be unheard of to be on an engagement for more than a year as an associate
My regular corporate cases have always been 2.5-4 months. There are longer cases out there across all these firms though
Hey man, I'm just trying to spread the knowledge. How is my comment different from your experience?
8-12 weeks is pretty standard
I've done 6-, 9-, and 11-month cases, but that's longer than normal.
My experience so far (~4 years). Non-DDs tend to be 4-12 weeks - most in the range of 8-10. DDs tend to be 2-5 weeks - mostly 3
12-20 that BCG 1 quoted seems high for the average. Unless he/she is including follow-on work. Also there's a rule that you have to roll off a project/client after 6 months no matter what. Have seen it be longer if both the consultant and the partners want it to be extended, but the 6 month thing is actually legit
Yea 20 is on higher end, you're right. But have seen fair share of those. Agree on 6 month mark. Especially at A and C level the firm will rotate folks off a case. Ps or PLs can stay longer.
Thanks everyone, BCG 2 what's a "DD"?
