I worked as a technical PM for a medium-sized adtech company in NYC in charge of 2 technical teams, and the business intelligence team.

On Thursday I was informed by the lead PO and HR that leadership had decided that the project management office was no longer necessary for the company and all three of us, the director and the two technical PMs, were being let go. None of us were given any notice.

They offered me 2 weeks of severance pay and I negotiated it to 3.

I am a second year/incoming third year associate at an AMLAW20 firm. I am in the project finance team and I really like what I do, but I can’t bear to work more than 12 hours a day. Will join in senior product manager role, with view to become head of product in a year. Pay is 40-50k per annum lower. Also got an offer from MBB top tier consulting firm, pay is nearly double first year (including a sign-on bonus). Do you guys still get paid working over your usual salaried hours? Like as long as I can get billable hours I get paid for all those hours. For example if I commute to a client site or even work 12 hours at a client site I can still get paid my hourly rate.
