Once you get into a FAANG company, is it better to stay where you are or move around? I’m a dissatisfied with my current job but I have vesting stocks, work 9-5, and people to know and respect me. I am the sole provider for my family and value quality of life and stability. I have some interview requests from other FAANG companies that I know pay more but I worry about starting over. Anyone switch companies and either regret it or are glad they did?
In the later stages of interview process for an in-house exec role for a small company. Went through the process directly with the company - now I’m competing with another person found by an exec search firm. Company wants me to talk tomorrow to the exec search firm too so they can evaluate my experience. Feeling a lot of self doubt as the other candidate is a senior leader and has done this before - whereas it’s more of a stretch role for me… any advice?!
I've asked this in the general bowl several times without response, so perhaps I'll get an answer here. When recruiting, did you know you were going to an AC? What is your background? Were you applying to core roles at other firms?
Thoughts on Blackrock’s corporate strategy group? Applying out of as an UG. Would it be comparable to consulting
Interviewing at Mckinsey. Need help with case interview prep. Any suggestions beside self-help books?
Better to be a big fish in a small pond or a little fish in a big pond for MBA apps (I.e. superstar at B4 or mediocre/below average at MBB; metaphorically speaking ofc, ik the B4 is technically bigger in terms of size but you understand the point in terms of competitiveness)?
Is it possible to go from Big 4 consulting to MBB, or would you have to get an MBA to make that shift?
I'm looking to pivot from consulting into tech. I've gotten lots of interesting from tech companies on the ops side but am much more interested in product management. Any advice on books or courses to help make the transition? I'm struggling to land PM interviews at companies that aren't tiny startups :(
Is it worth joining MBB firm? How does it impact your long term growth? Recently promoted to senior manager in tech consulting space and I am considering to take a paycut (about 50k) to join Mckinsey at post MBA consultant level. I want to hear feedback from MBB fish here. Most of my friends think it's a bad move..
Moss Adams people. What can you tell me about Matrix. Interviewed with an office for a senior position and one of the managers talked about Matrix. How you guys use that to upload the information into the tax software?
Have you noticed different MBB Business Units treating candidates poorly? I.e. BCGs Gamma and Platinum will ghost candidates for weeks, while their Core BCG counterparts are handheld through process?
Starting to interview for LinkedIn BizOps - what skills should I try to highlight / does anyone have advice for the behavioral / case rounds? What technical skills are required or sought after?
Hello fishes, Can anyone guide me on the interview process for a consulting role in Deloitte UK?
What’s Ross’s stereotype? Is it possible to get into MBB or FAANG post graduation? What is the student body like? Is it reputable?
Folks who moved from MBB to a top-tier tech firm (E.g. FAANG): how does the talent compare between the two?
Background checks don’t show a current employer if it was never included on your resume or reported by you correct? Recently starting a job I did not communicate during interviews with another firm (just went off my prior job)
Hi Fishes Have few questions about JPMC:- How is JPMC culture and job security? How much should one expect from JPMC for VP (Java) position in Hydrabad with 16+ YOE ?
Help! I am 6’1” tall with long legs and long feet .... and it seems like my “go to online store” for tall pants/slacks (32”-34” inseam) as well as shoes (size 14M) has shuttered (Long Tall Sally). I would love any suggestions for either tall clothes and/or shoes. Even a place to buy custom shoes at this point - I am desperate! My slightly too small size 13 Tory Burch sandals are just not going to cut it during the colder months, even given COVID 🤪 Thanks in advance!
Got a job offer at a tech startup but I might have to take a small pay cut. It would move me from tech consulting work to a more product facing role. I only have a year of experience but I’m wondering if anyone else did something similar by pivoting their career path early by taking a pay cut and how it worked out?
Can someone help with the base salary range for a 6+ years experienced finance professional with FRM and CFA certifications in Big 6 firms in Advisory practice? Also, what should be the expectations for joining bonus during the current times?
Would you apply through a diversity recruiting link or an MD referral link assuming you have referrals from both paths?
I got a verbal offer from Deloitte today, and I was told I'll get an official email with the details. I asked for 150K for a Sr. Consultant role, SF office. Is this a good compensation? I'm guessing they might come back with a lower offer, but in that case, how do I negotiate? And how do I find out what the TC is made up of? My profile: YOE - 3 Non-MBA No prior consulting experience Any inputs are helpful. Thank you.
Does LinkedIn networking for a referral actually help when applying? I feel like I’m struggling to maintain a good relationship with execs to make that referral request naturally.
