You’d come through with the UG population into a BA role. Wouldn’t hinder we’d just look at you as part of the UG population.

What would you do instead of getting the masters degree? Work at ey? I think it'd be better to get your mba from an ivy in two years

helpful

No I wasn’t able to get a job in the pandemic, hence wanting to pursue a masters for a change in a technical direction. Might as well recruit for mbb since i had prepped cases before

Consulting firms have dedicated MBA program pipeline. For Masters, you would need to apply the same way with the undergraduate candidates.

This is such a specific question you're probably better off asking people who've done your program or the career services people at the university. I went to an ivy for undergrad and BCG/Bain would do ~100 first round interviews for full time and McK would do ~30. Seemed like if you had above a 3.6 gpa you'd get at least one to interview you

And just wondering, do consulting firms tend to purposefully filter out masters students when it comes to on campus recruitment? I know for sure that investment banking prefers undergrads for the front office analyst roles

Most schools have separate career services for UG and GR students. You would need to check with the school to make sure you can add your resume to the UG recruiting portal.

What do you actually want to do for work? Is your masters relevant for that? Not really enough info here without knowing your goals.

Wow at OP.

If you have the time, interest, and finances for a non-MBA masters degree (or non JD), go for it, but that's for you vs any real bump in your job search. If you were trying to get into life sciences consulting, or some other role that benefits from a hard science background, I can see the professional value - but otherwise it's just one more interesting thing on your resume vs a real differentiator.

In addition, one concern to think through is whether that school allows you to campus recruit with the undergrads, because your masters certainly won't be target for MBB if it's not an MBA or other relevant terminal professional degree.

If you want to go into consulting I’d recommend doing that directly. If you don’t get the job you want, the masters would be a way to reset and reapply.
