Lots of ex-B4 folks at McK, many of whom are very successful at the firm and do very well. You will not be looked down upon for having started at a B4. With only 3 yoe you would likely come in as a BA- but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. Our BA’s are compensated well and can get promoted directly to EM. Plus there are people of varying ages at every level. I know someone who came in as a BA at 28 and is crushing it and loving life. BA’s still make around $130k or something (actual comp numbers are public, just Google it). My advice - don’t self reject. Apply and see what happens.
Why does this make you nervous? All you can do is put your best foot forward.
And to answer your question - yes, there are people from big 4 here with varying degrees of success (like everyone). If coming in outside a normal entry point (undergrad, mba) there is an adjustment period until they learn the process, but it’s expected.
EY1 we can pretend it doesn’t happen but it does, I’m just wondering to what extent. I joined a consulting club during undergrad to help network, and without getting too detailed a guy from BCG told a room full of 30+ students that they will take 0 campus hires from our school. It was explained in a way that felt like a bit of a slap in the face. I’m wondering if that experience is representative of how people are viewed at MBB that don’t have as great of credentials on paper

I joined from Accenture and went to a good but non-target school. I have not been made to feel lesser than and was given a good runway to adapt and get my bearings, and after that I think I got great opportunities which translated to good reviews and a valuable network of sponsors and friends.
