Is moving from MBB to FAANG non tech roles (strategy & ops) worth it? How is the career progression?
What’s that salary website that members post here on occasion for more accurate salary data from companies like FAANG Mbb big 4 and IB? Not glassdoor, not paysa, payscale, it’s not as well known
Getting married next month and we’d like to have a joint checking account to cover shared expenses, however I don’t want to miss out on all the points I can rack up by consistently using my delta platinum card (spending thresholds = point bonuses, etc). Also my credit card bill will likely be a mix of shared and personal expenses, so how do couples go about this? Open to any advice. Thanks!
Significant other is active duty marine corps and while I have 10 years of experience, having a tough time “making the right moves” to climb the ranks in consulting due to needing to (or at least needing to be available to) relocate every few years. Anyone willing to chat? Looking to get into MBB if possible. Prior big 4 exp and worked across human capital, tech, and some S&O. Super hard working and quick learner. McKinsey & Company Bain & Company Boston Consulting Group
MBB 🐠: How are you implementing agile/scrum/kanban on your projects? Is agile the standard there? How familiar/experienced should external hires be in this methodology?
Anyone know a ballpark Mbb acceptance rate into HBS? Is it actually that much easier getting in from mck?
PwC 🐠, what happens if you choose to buy tickets with ⚠️ on Concur? United's prices are really low this past few weeks, making my Delta flights always marked with ⚠️
What are the ultimate consulting exit apps (I.e? specific role/team & industry) for the non-technical consultants? Looking to understand the exit opps available that: 1. Pay in line with MBB or exceeds (YOY raise is also in line with career and pay progression at MBB) 2. Have reasonable hours, at most 9-7 so I can pick up some hobbies and have a personal life 3. Have great global brand/prestige that will make me as desirable exiting consulting now vs exiting that company in the future
Frequent travelers thru ATL - anyone eaten at One Flew South at the airport? Is it worth it? I have a long layover next wk that I’d like to spend anywhere besides the delta club!
Thank you Delta!
Siting in the lounge of a hotel in the middle of nowhere... Surrounded by old men... Save me!
Made it to final rounds for MBB in early 2018 when I was a Consultant at ACN. Feedback was needed to be a little crisper on the case. How long to wait before reapplying?
found a $200 better hotel deal on SPGs app than through deloitte travel -- any chance there's a way to book through the app and expense it rather than book through deloitte travel?
Made flight by 1 minute dumb move LGA C9 doesnt mean terminal C. Then took wrong bus ended up in ghetto and taxi back. Hows eveyones thursday?
Exhausted from the hours I am putting in in IB. Just pulled an all-nighter through Sunday night. Seriously contemplating moving to MBB. Question: How are the Associates and Consultants at MBB doing? What's your hours like? @McKinsey, @BCG, @Bain
Does anyone have a rough timeline of MBB recruitment? When does networking start, when do apps get submitted, when is office selection required by?
To all fishes that went from T2 to MBB - did you notice a big difference in quality, standards, people worked with, or anything else? Trying to understand why MBB is MBB beyond name-brand and prestige.
Does anybody know if Accenture is sponsoring h1b with experience hire? I would just need an h1b transfer. Also, when do you usually reveal to the company that you need sponsorship if they did not ask?
I have an in-house interview coming up, for a job that will cover SEC regulatory investigations and inquiries. I have experience with that, but don't have a global view on trends and key areas. Can anyone recommend some reading for me to do, or free CLEs so I can prepare for the interview? Thanks!
Any thoughts/insights on how the travel aspect would play out in PwC's Salesforce practice in the post COVID world? Will they want us to be on the road 4 days a week or it will be much more hybrid? If it's the latter, how much % of travel should someone working at PwC's Salesforce practice expect?
Any thoughts on the best certifications to get in order to help move forward? I have considered the CCP from World at Work, but it’s fairly pricey to get by the time you wrap up everything. I was looking at both SHRM-CP and SPHR. Everyone that I have spoken to has the SHRM, but that’s also only looking at individuals in a small geographic footprint and within 3-4 different companies. I was hoping to get some thoughts on this from others? Thanks
I have been working in HR since 2004. I have a bachelor's degree but it is not in HR, it's in a medical/technical field. My entire career in HR has been on the job training and I have worked besides people with HR degrees doing the same things they do. What extra skills do you think your HR degree gives you that you wouldn't have without the degree?
Big4/ACN consultant -> MBB Consultant/Associate I was wondering if I get promoted to a consultant from an analyst/BA at one of these firms above, can I lateral to MBB as an Associate or Consultant? Or would I need to start over again as AC/BA or get my MBA. I’d much rather get my MBA thru sponsorship and MBBs seem to have a better package for grad school compared to other firms.
In the process of interviewing for S1 in audit with Deloitte, when I’m asked about expected comp, what should I aim for? I am in NYC. Thank you.
Taking an international flight out of BOS, not checking any bags, if my flights at 9pm what time should I get to the airport? Dont gave global entry
Hello I just started my first job (I’m 22) and I need to set up a 401k for matching with my company. I’m really confused how this works because I want to try to hit the IRS maximum of $19,500 for Roth contributions this year. Maybe it’s too late in the year now, but it’s asking me to pick my desired contribution % per pay period, but I’m not sure how much to do because it says it’ll kick in 1-2 pay cycles and I don’t even know when the next pay check comes yet. Any tips would be great
What jobs within the change management space could I get at FAANG with ~5 YOE? What is the typical comp in these kinds of roles?
A Deloitte AM&C (Advertising, Marketing & Commerce) recruiter reached out to me today to schedule an interview. Can someone provide some insight to the Team and Deloitte’s culture?
Would anyone that has moved from Big 4 to MBB be willing to chat for 15-30 minutes? I’m hitting a point where I am enjoying consulting (advisory) but I’m not sure the idea of narrowing in on a specific industry and exact skillset appeals to me. Seems like MBB is broader and I’m curious (also not assuming I could even get in, but I want to explore the option).
About to start the interview process. I need to practice my maths before going through the online screens. Does anyone have any feedback what the MBB screens look like and what are some online resources I can use to practice doing the math problems?
The waiting game - I had my second round of interview yesterday. I am anxiously waiting for a callback for the final round. How many candidates usually get selected into the final round?
What did you accomplish during COVID?
I somehow managed to clear the interview and bagged an offer in a emerging product based company but now I'm scared 😕😕. This is a new technology that I learnt and no hands on also... Will I be thrown away post joining once they find out..... My YOE 4. Is it safe to look for a service based itself😢😢
Hi. I’m an incoming masters in business analytics student at MIT and am looking for summer 2022 internships as an analyst in a tech company. I have worked as an engineering analyst for about a year. Got Presurvey email post interviews @ Deloitte USI for Consultant role. What is the ETA for the next step ?
Hey 🐠 - looking to Stamp my visa (H1B renewal) in Oct-Nov timeframe - any knowledge of American consulates currently processing them? I’m trying to get an appointment in Madrid but would be happy to go somewhere else in the caribbean if possible. If I do end up going to Spain- I believe I need to stay somewhere outside the Schengen area for 14 days before entering the US. Has anyone travelled to Europe? Any help/confirmation on the above would be highly appreciated.
