As I prepared to file my notice, the partner of the firm called me and asked me to stay. They’re willing to promote me mid year in December and increase salary next year in August. The current offer I have gives 60% pay increase and Partner still can’t match that offer after promotion. Firm leadership says here I have potential to be a partner in 8 years and talk about all the leadership support I have rn which is fair. Is this one of their tactics to make me stay or should I just leave…

Can someone explain this sense of entitlement by the younger generation? When I hear the younger gen complaining that they aren't getting paid enough when they start at 70k which is more than some experienced hires.....I just don't understand.

HELP! I just got a BCG consultant offer. PwC paid for my MBA. I still need to work here for 3 more years before not owing any of it back (currently would have to pay 100% of it if I left). Is the move worth it? Or should I maybe push to move to Strategy& (internal move) instead of BCG?

I am noticing that McKinsey is increasingly recruiting at non-elite schools (very roughly speaking not top 15 schools). At my old undergrad, 5 years ago the most competitive firm to show up was EY. This year McKinsey took 4 non-internship full hires. Why is McKinsey going “down market” for recruiting? Are elite school kids losing interest in consulting so McK has to cast a wider net? Or is McK seeking a wider pool for other reasons? I advise undergrads on consulting so want to be best informed.
