How is Issaquah Highlands? Good neighborhood?
CTL increase only I think
Layoffs are usually done indirectly.
E.g. instead of cutting bottom 10 percent performers in performance review, they cut 20 percent instead
Likely same thing happening now
Noooooooo layoffs in the MBB land (like ever!!). It is business as usual and no changes from the previous years. Those guys being pushed out the door are all performance related...! This is from the representative from the MBB association and I totally believe it. Why would anyone not?!?
You are in good standing. Being CTLed is only a death sentence internally. If I remember correctly, the firm actually tried to help you land
What’s CTL?
Thanks

We haven’t laid off since ‘02, it was a horrible decision that took years to recover from. Won’t happen again. Performance bar for up/out goes up a bit. The bubble cases we would squint at during a boom and let stick around don’t pass anymore.

If we lay-off at lower levels, then we don’t have PLs to staff cases during the upturn and don’t have the right Partners in 6-8 years.
Thanks I was just interested. I wish everyone at every firm well. Except Chad Smithington - fuck that POS.
How does McKinsey position alums to prospective employers when you are CTLed? Are you considered not in good standing?
Coach
Same as is. CTL/Transition = employed
That’s a pretty good deal
Coach
Same as ours...
?

Yes, firm can place you at a client, and still make money out of your indirectly
