Hello people. I have been working from 1 year with TCS. The work culture and wlb is decent, got a really good rating 4.7 on anniversary appraisal and multiple appreciations from client. The things is I was lowballed while joining and currently getting excellent offers in the market. Does TCS adjust compensation if I ask to match the market rate with help of one of the offers, without resigning? Tata Consultancy

Mck just doesn’t do as much DD work, and, not getting the big deals the other two are getting. Guess not a strategic focus.
The reason why there is no ringfence is likely because not a strategic focus (relatively). Compared with Bain PEG which is there bread and butter.

what exactly is a ringfence? How doesnit differ from typical DD work?
A ringfence is just a “fenced” off area such as what they have at BCG and Bain where you agree to a X month stint doing only diligences. The logic from what I’ve heard is it enables you to get good at them to actually start adding value faster and more reliably. My broader question though is that it seems we don’t really care about PE DD work, BCG is making huge strides leveraging their expertise, and we have as much or more than them yet don’t seem to leverage it/be making any defined DD play as a firm
Ringfence is a maximum security compound where consultant level and below are kept.
Easier to keep them consistently on CDDs for an extended period of time.
I think the logic behind ringfencing it is such that people who do PE work do it for a 3 or 6 month defined stint, which improve the ability to actually get good at it, whereas at McK I have noticed people don’t adhere to that logic. We also seemingly don’t care much about PE work, which confuses me.
Have a friend got hired directly into PEPI as an Associate, thought the ringfence exists for McK? This is for Europe btw.
