McK folks- what is usually the timeframe from first HR interview to the final offer?

I have an offer in PE VP role in Citco and JPM and I am at cross road on which is one to company to choose. Their pay is very similar but JPM is offering an attractive signing on bonus. I need a honest advise on which is better between these two firms.

I'm currently interviewing for senior software engineer and have a couple interviews with PMs (culture fit, etc).
I've had some rocky relationships with PMs.
As a PM, what would you like an engineer to ask you?
As an engineer, what would you ask a PM to understand how the work with engineers, what they prioritize, if they throw engineers under the bus, etc?
I've also had many experiences with great PMs.

SalesForce folks, a recruiter reached out for an opportunity to interview for a AE position in my specialty. I noticed there is also an opp available locally for a Strategic Account Manager in my vertical as well.
Any one know of pay difference between the two, responsibilities/expectations, how they are viewed in the org itself?

529 NY question. I want to setup an account for my daughter. Planning to contribute $10K to maximize the tax deduction as a married couple.
(1) Should my wife and I setup two accounts for our daughter with $5K each? Or ok to setup a single account under one of our names?
(2) Understand $10K is below the annual gift tax but 529 is considered a gift. Is it good practise to document this in some shape/form? Like a one page doc that my wife and I sign stating we gifted to a 529 $10K in 2022.

Hearing a lot about the "hidden" job market these days. Is this a thing for biglaw/similar legal roles? Exited biglaw lit about a year ago and would be interested in going back if fully remote, as I no longer live in a major market. Are recruiters aware of remote roles not posted on firm sites/LinkedIn/etc?

I was listening to a podcast for one of the courses I’m taking and thought I’d share some cool stuff about building habits:

- Willpower is not as effective in making a long term change compared to building habits

- Reduce friction (eg much more likely to go to gym if it’s 5 mins away vs 10)

- Take an existing habit and add your new habit onto it

- Use chaos and stressful times to rethink practical decisions

- To break bad habits, add friction (eg phone & charger away at night)

Looking for ideas for a project/activity for my gifted and or higher level students to work on in class. I would like something challenging but they would be able to do it with little help from me because I would be doing remediation with my below grade level students. Something that would take several weeks for them to do, 20 minutes or so per day. Maybe a novel study? 6th grade Reading, Lexile level 1100+ but still appropriate for 6th graders. Thanks!

Didn't have top grades, wasn't on law review. Worked at a midsize firm and was laid off in march-- have about 3 years experience in a hot practice area. Have been applying and had some interviews at larger shops but nothing has come of it. I realize it may vary by company, but does putting a referrers work email (with their knowledge and permission) on the relevant portion of the job application help increase the chances that your application is seen?

Usually it's the part of the application where it asks how you heard about the position and if you select the "company X employee" option, it will ask for their company email.
