I’m MI and have been at the firm 1.5 years. MI folks are treated the same as the generalist consultants after you join, including same comp structure.
You will get slightly different trainings, be part of the MI groups internally during reviews, and be more likely to get staffed on longer implementation projects (but not gauatenteed or forced in anyway, I’ve done strategy projects too). MI also has some really great down to earth people.
Ask your recruiter if they can put you in touch with someone in MI for a quick call.
MI is great and within teams gets treated the same as general. The base/bonus pay band for MI is the same as general and promotion periods are the same as well. MI is still relatively young, so the aim is to have more partners and senior partners come from MI. If you don’t like implementation, consult with your PDM for non-implementation studies but I heard PDMs are incentivized to put you on implementation studies. This all means you’ll have to do more networking within the Firm early on to be staffed on studies you want.
Thanks both! I am more confident to move forward now.
