McKinsey folks - I am upcoming manager at EY but want to work at McKinsey. I work in IT Audit, have a masters in finance but don’t have MBA. What should Be the best route for me to enter McKinsey?

I can’t help but feel stuck in my career. I’m a licensed attorney in another country, but been working as a law clerk in a firm for about a year now. I was hoping to take the NY bar in February but the foreign law graduate restrictions won’t allow. Now, I have to wait till July! I can’t help but feel this way, and as much as I love my company, I’m beginning to dislike the role. Maybe it’s an ‘ego’ thing? Anyone ever been in this position? How did you get over it?

Looking for input on changing positions from a Buyer to an International Logistics Coordinator. I have international freight experience and have a potential opportunity. Financially, the move makes a lot of sense. Would this be good for career trajectory? For context, I have been a buyer for several years and this is my first 'real' job, so pretty early in my career.

Hey friends! So I left PwC (risk assurance, did a bit of consulting) about 4 years ago for industry, and have been working in supply chain ever since for a major retailer. Recently, a recruiter from Protiviti reached out to talk to me about open roles in supply chain consulting, and I’m trying to decide if this would be a good move or not. I know it wouldn’t be quite the same as the hours as big 4, but I don’t know enough to be sure if it’s the right fit. Any advice?

I am a POC and have enjoyed the diversity of colleagues that I have met in consulting so far. When I look at websites of PE firms, I see primarily white men from Associate all the way to Managing Director level.

Why do you think there are these structural differences? Do PE firms not believe as much in diversity of thoughts/lived experiences?

Do you think that consulting would provide more advancement opportunities than PE does for a POC, given the structural differences?

For those in FAAS, accounting advisory. do you have template or other client’s work that you can refer to? Or do you have to start from scratch? Just interviewed with a smaller consulting practice, they said you have to execute and deliver from day one. I have always been an auditor and not to confident if I am to do the work by myself, I can get it all done. I mean I still SAlY when I audit.

I really want to work TAS FDD. I have 2 years of audit experience now and my cpa. I have one year of government and public sector and one year in commercial audit. As cheesy as this sounds that’s all I’ve wanted to do since discovering it a few months into my career in audit.
