For folks who are looking at exit opportunities: does it make sense to try and work for the M&A group within your firms before looking for corp strat roles? Looks like deal exp is reqd in most roles
Transition to the big 4 or very small boutique firm? Looking to move due to being pigeonholed in BA work, low pay compared to the industry, and just generally needing a change. I passed all interviews for a boutique, 30 person company. They are preparing a formal offer and final call for this Tuesday. At my lowest ask, it’s a 15% pay increase. And I will be able to stay more of a generalist, doing more senior work. I have a Deloitte interview tomorrow for a SC position. Continued
My consumer tech company (non-FAANG, think DoorDash, classpass, SoundCloud) is hiring in the following roles: - Senior product marketing manager (5YOE) - Corporate strategy manager (6YOE) - Corporate strategy analyst (2YOE) - Senior product manager (4YOE) - Data scientist (3YOE) DM me for more info / referral!
Hello fish! Any idea about Affirm Inc. ? I got reached out for an analytics manager role. How’s the WLB, career progression? Also, will exit opportunities be severely restricted to FinTech when I want to move? I’m pretty sure the recruiter is gonna ask me for my salary expectations during the first call, can anyone share a salary range and breakdown? Thanks a lot!
What are people's thoughts on hiring freezes in the M&A/ M&A Tax space? There are salary freezes and layoffs (especially at EY Deloitte), but will a hiring freeze be put in place? No matter how (cont)
Genuine question: What are the most common exit options at Google BizOps? (1) For internal transfer to PM, those teams seem to prefer to hire Google engineers. (2) For internal transfer to Chief of Staff, why those teams don’t promote their own Strategy & Op folks? (3) For BizOps internal promotion, there are not many Director positions. (4) For leaving Google, I don’t know where people usually go… Please share your thoughts / correct me if I’m wrong. Thanks!
Why is every role a ‘business analyst role’?!
Genuine question and attempt to understand: for those of you who are upset or unhappy about more robust efforts at diversity and inclusivity, can you explain why these efforts upset you? Or worry you?
Call with recruiter from Google this week for a post MBA position. How should I prepare?
As Ms Reid said, “End of an Error!” Bitter Trump skips high-profile exit, releases farewell video
Cried HARD today because work is stressing me out and I learned this week that I'm paid less than a less senior team member we're hiring for. How'd everyone else's week go?
How’s the culture at MasterCard (tech roles rather than advisory/consulting roles) compared to big tech and/or big4 consulting? Would it be a good exit from consulting?
So I screwed up big time and took an associate role in my current job. I absolutely should have pushed for senior, but I was super eager for a new job and to be back near family. I'm about a month into this job, is it crazy for me to start looking around? I know I could be paid a lot more...
Does anyone have any creative suggestions for providing role clarity within teams. We work diligently to maintain job descriptions and communicate team changes broadly, but our employees are still craving some sort of additional reference point of how positions interact with one another. We have Sharepoint and we’re thinking of putting more job info there next to peoples names and titles. Look forward to suggestions!
Best exit opp you've seen a partner take ?
Deloitte is hiring like anything it seems. Do u want to rejoin Deloitte? Is this good time to join back?
Is working at FAANG in a product role the equivalent of MBB in consulting? Meaning as in once you leave, you can jump levels at another company?
Currently looking for jr copywriter job, but I’m seeing mostly copywriter jobs that require 2-3 yrs. My other option seems to be an internship. What’s the likelihood of a jr copywriter position?
Any Deloitters can share a little bit on how the pension works? From what I see 401k is 25% match of 6% of salary. Then pension is 1.5% of base?
How do deal with mental health disorders (bipolar, schizophrenia, autism, etc) in your day to day life? How do you handle work? Did you go to school and finish? Did you have a family?
At family reunion and playing Monopoly Deal (first to $1M wins) with younger cousins. Crushed them. Teaching life lessons. 👌
I'm new to the industry and this is my first corporate job. Been working as a BI analyst for about 2.5 years and I roughly make $80k. I'm having a hard time trying to gauge how much should I be making, or if I speak to my manager about increasing compensation how much to ask for so I won't sound absurd. Do you all have any tips on this or are there any tools that I can use to accurately gauge how on average much I should be earning?
If two Delta Diamonds are on the upgrade list and have purchased the same fare class at the same price, what would be the next tie-breaker? (Assume no certificates are being used)
Thinking about going to Memphis for a girls weekend. Any recommendations? Also looking to stay at a Hilton property, but can't decide between the Doubletree and the Hampton Inn downtown. Advice?
I would like to organize a promotion celabration for my coworkers. Not something we normally do in our country. What do you do other than drink? Any tips?
Is it worth it to mention that you received an early promotion in a job interview? Or is that too much of a brag or irrelevant?
All my friends who are not in consulting think I’m rich because I make double their salary but I’m really not though
If you're in expected promotion year, but talk about it a lot with your coach & team, get great reviews at beginning of year, does that cement it barring really bad feedback? Will be 11 months in team

Any Big 4 people who work in actuary here? What's the work like? If I pass the first 2 exams, do I have a chance of transferring in?
How often do you feel that you’ve nailed an interview, and then gotten an offer? Alternatively.. How often have you gotten an offer despite what felt like an “okay” interview?
Does BAH pay better than big 4?
I have round 2 interviews coming up with Kearney for an Associate role within the Strategic Operations practice. Is anyone else here practicing, looking to practice, or has had experience with the firm? Would love to understand a few things: 1) Types of cases to expect. 2) Is the format very different from the McKinsey style of casing? Aside from Kearney expecting the candidate to lead the case. 3) I've heard cases are mostly Operations oriented. Is that true? Thank you in advance
SF 🐠: any suggestions for semi-regular weekend volunteering that would leverage a consulting skill set? Preferably healthcare orgs but no clinical background needed. Thanks!
