Looking for some perspective and advice. I’ve moved to an in-house analytics organization for a large fortune 10 company and have prior experience with a big 4 and a startup as head of analytics & data science. My parents have off the books debt with some people I don't know. They are in a "payment plan" that brings their balance to 0 by 2023. AFAIK it's not a life threatening situation. I've made the conscious choice not to see them until the debt is paid. Asking for opinions on what others would do in this situation. Historically I've already helped them pay a sum of 20-30k the past 10 years. And I made this "selfish" choice so I can start financially planning for my own life.
