Admit. Admit that you did itttttt!!!

I actually encountered a case once where the defendants blew everything off at first, this was actually an RFA, and by the time they apparently told their lawyers that the case existed, the response deadline had already passed. Needless to say, case did not go very well for the defendants.

I made a post here quoting the movie scene pictured and it was deleted because it had a swear in it. (Because The Departed is full of swearing!) anyways good luck responding to RFAs, it’s one of my least favorite litigation tasks.

Hi! So yesterday I pitched that we take every article in our real estate magazine and basically copy and paste it into a blog section on our website. Hi! I’m moving to LA from Chicago, base 90k - no debt. I live in a 1BD rn and have been browsing the market in LA to get an idea of rent. I’m mainly looking west of DTLA (ktown, la brea, pico rob, etc)it’s seeming like a 1BD may be out of reach. I’m not looking to pay more than $1800/mo. Any suggestions on neighborhoods I should consider? I’d like to be near grocery, restaurants, and would need parking. I enjoy being outdoors and would look to go on hikes/runs in my free time if that helps. TIA!

I would appreciate any advice on how to stay on top of non urgent tasks. As a 2nd year, I’m often tapped to handle tedious tasks that need to get done quickly. Tbh, I like urgent matters. It motivates me and helps me focus. I admittedly struggle to care about checking in on DWQs, record requests, OC’s discovery, scheduling matters, etc. Especially with so many cases. I definitely rely heavily (maybe over rely?) on the paralegals for these sort of things. Any tips?

Deadline to Answer was missed, judicial default was entered, then a Default Final Judgment was entered without a hearing. Would this be an additional grounds for a Motion to Set Aside/Vacate? Assistant forgot to the calendar deadline, and when judicial default was issued, assistant was assigned to file the Answer/Counterclaim, but did not. Soon after, she quit. Was first put on notice when DFJ was issued.

I’m a current biglaw associate thinking of lateraling to Quinn Emanuel. Looking for a more dynamic and trial-focused litigation practice, but I’m a little put off by how poorly Quinn seems to invest in support (tech, paralegals, etc) and generally seems to nickel and dime its associates.
