Merrill Lynch reached out on LinkedIn to “see if we can help”. My reply: Hi XXX, thanks for reaching out. I'm sorry to be downer, but I will never, ever, ever be a client of Merrill. I am a committed Boglehead and pay ~5 bps a year to Vanguard, where my investment portfolio is (and has been for the past decade) entirely comprised of index ETFs. I'm quite happy being average and have no interest in PE, active management, art, whole life insurance, fancy tax schemes, derivatives etc. Sorry.

I do see that you are 50/50 with the TQQQ instead of the 55/45 OG blend. Nice accommodation

This should have been put under the win column but then you went ahead and virtue signalled by telling all of us.

Hi everybody! 😊
I've been working as a Junior Analog Design Engineer for a year and half.
I received a proposal for a Senior Analog Designer role from Bosch in the same city where I am currently working.
Should I wait and build up a few more years of experience before accepting a Senior role or should I jump in and work to fill the gap?
Next year, there will be an important deadline for the project I'm working on and my resignation could be critical for the team, how would you deal with it?

I applied for a position at a creative agency via LinkedIn. I'm not excited about agency work but job hunting hasn't been going well and I applied anyway. They reached out and would like to interview. But when I went to look over the job details again, I found their listing on ZipCruiter gives a pay range, which at their high end is $20k less than my minimum salary reqs. Should I still interview with them? If not, how can I politely reply and decline the interview?

Need some advice for investing, I make a base salary of 180k - meaning after taxes and 401k etc I take home 9k per month. Child care , living expenses - 4-4.5k, investments in india - 2.5k, I have up to 2-2.5k left every month. Should I be putting all of it in ETFs ? That would be about 33%-25% of my salary. I put my bonuses and stocks in savings accounts and CDs for my kid. Thoughts? Thank you!

My federal student loans currently have a ~4.5% interest rate. I have a lump sum that could take a significant portion out, but I’m leaning towards investing in VTI instead to outperform the interest rate.

How sound is this strategy and what other investment vehicles should I be looking at?

I was planning to buy a home next year, but now I expect to renew my lease once it expires. If so, I wouldn't be buying a home for at least 2 years from now.

Guessing I should still leave the down payment in a HYSA (getting 3% right now)? Sucks to miss out on market returns, but I understand that conventional wisdom is not to invest money you'll need in the short term (within 3ish years). I'm definitely tempted to put a portion of that in VTI though...
