Good books on corporate sales strategy
Anyone have a consulting services sales training they recommend taking? Or books to read?
New teacher here: I have a collection of bins of books from garage sales, giveaways, hand me downs, etc. Looking for organization tips and best apps/websites to quickly level them!
How to be good at Sales and have a charismatic personality? Any words of wisdom? Any great books to read? Any other recommendations?
I am an aspiring entrepreneur and want to start a business in future for sure. I have a few ideas but nothing concrete, or close to being a start up yet. I work in tech, but a generalist - have done sales, delivery operations etc. trying to get experience in as many areas as possible before I go on my own. I dnt know where to start the journey. Are their any books or other material I can read/reference to think and plan about my entrepreneurship journey. I m in mid 40s based in t2 city US east.
Have an interview with an AI company next week. Role is in sales. Recruiter suggested i read Prediction Machines since I have a very introductory knowledge of AI/ML. Since there’s limited time, what short books or podcasts/videos would you all recommend in lieu of prediction machines?
Back in the day, I did my own PR, sales & marketing for whatever business idea I was running with at the time. What’s a good remote sales opportunity I can do anywhere in the world that won’t be painful or too high touch? Where I can use my social & business skills (markets, law, cloud, publishing, media, logistics, algos, social media, books, ebooks, design, podcasting, marketing, press release writing, voiceover, journalism) to earn a few extra shillings?
I currently work in a hybrid sales/marketing role. However, I would love more experience in marketing specifically so I can move in to a marketing specific role. Does anyone have a suggestion of books or articles, podcasts, organizations to follow that will allow me to stay up to date on the latest trends but also help prepare for a marketing centric role? Thank you
My professional life at the moment is far from ideal. I’ve been on quarantine (long story, but a good one) for the last seven years. Royalties from my books don’t pay the bills. My entrepreneurial pursuits remain hampered. For the interim, I’ve been looking for a remote opportunity where I can leverage my skills in marketing, sales, social media, and elsewhere for a decent sum. I have a social media presence which, in recent years, reached millions. There has to be something exciting I can do.
Lots of us are skilled at delivery but most sales books seem to focus on the pitch and closing... What are your best resources for learning to develop and nurture strong, lasting client relationships?
Hey folks, I’m about a year into my new SE career and looking to continue to invest in professional skills. I’ve obviously been thrown into the fire learning the sales side of things, but what areas (technical skills, certs, books, etc.) you all would recommend I look to invest in? I’ve been looking at some beginner coding boot camps and scrum product owner certs, but interested in what you all have done to further advance your career
Hi everyone! I’m a young CPA, relocating to Raleigh. I made the decision to transition into sales after realizing that I want to bring more fun into my career. I’m currently reading sales books, watching Keenan’s YouTube channel, and learning all I can. I’m relentlessly applying for SDR positions but I’m having trouble landing interviews (been applying through LinkedIn). I would appreciate advice from anyone who transitioned from another industry into sales. How did you break the barrier?
Hiya! I was wondering if anyone here has any good recommendations in terms of books or learning material that I can pick up to learn about sales and marketing relevant to the consulting industry?
Thinking I could smash it in a sales gig after selling thousands of copies of my own books. I also have a large global audience. I’m looking to make a lot of money in a short period of time. I am hungry. I am a go getter. I have done everything. Who is ready to put me to work remotely or in Denver? Let’s talk!
Books on human psychology that have affected you. I'll start: influence, sales Bible, on killing.
Fishes, looking for recommendations on growing business development and sales skills. Finding and growing pipelines, establishing marketing materials, closing sales, and similar for services. I have on the job experience within consulting but never any formal training or education. Entering a new role where I'll need to build organizational capabilities from scratch. Any recommendations on programs, certificates, courses, books, or other similar ideas would be greatly appreciated. TIA!
How do I learn how to interact with clients? Like advice for someone in sell side sales? Anyone know any good books or other resources? I found this video and I want to learn more tips like this: http://www.cnbc.com/2015/01/14/master-class-entertaining-wall-street-clients-commentary.html
Any recommendations for good sales courses / books to learn or be better at "how to sell"?
Starting a new job in a few weeks. I have a downtime in between and have started growing a beard. I interviewed without one, would it be weird to go in day 1 with a beard? It’s going to be short and tidy and right before Movember if that helps the case.
Anyone dealt with a parent that has dementia and lives far away (too far to drive and visit)? They live with another family member so not alone. Is there anything that helps the condition? Advice?
While we’re spending our time arguing over riots and protests, be sure to do what you can to help fight the injustice, whether through signing petitions, donating to non profits, helping/buying from/donating to your local POC owned businesses, calling your local politicians, and don’t forget to care about your own mental health. While our job doesn’t allow us to have the capacity to heal ourselves, we should do what we can with the little time we have to make sure we’re okay as well.
I wanted to pass along a sales class opportunity for all of yall. I will add the disclaimer that I am in no way making any commission by showing you this. In fact, I am paying myself to take this course. The presenter Jamal is a down-to-earth guy that has a passion for sharing what he has learned in his sales career. He is responsible for bringing in $160M projects at Oracle. Give the course a look if you are interested.
What does KPMG call their consulting practice, Advisory? Average comp for Senior Associates in workday tech area?
How do you feel about your firm's benefits package, on retirement (401K), PTO, parental leave, and health insurance? Curious to see whether and how you think your firm needs to make adjustments.
I got laid off today and need a new job asap. Would love to connect with anyone looking for a junior writer.
downgraded my csr (had for 5 years) to chase freedom unlimited, waited 5-6 days, applied for csp to get the 100k bonus. my application is “under review.” did this happen to anyone else who churned successfully?
Is it rational to want to leave because I don't want to travel? Been on the bench & it has me thinking that something local would be much more suitable for me. Should I explore firm options first?
I used to pay $99 a year for Hootsuite all of the sudden they auto billed me $588 for the same pro plan. They sent me an email stating I was getting a lot of features they had upgraded through the years and had to raise the price. Has anyone else experienced this? Did you find another source to use instead of Hootsuite? Are they fair in pricing?
Which consulting firms sponsor for a full MBA. I’ll start 1. Deloitte - sponsors MBA - need to work for two years post MBA in the firm.
Folks who are on a H1/L1 visa, how do you handle the income out of a rental property? Do you hire a property manager? How much would they charge approximately and is it worth it?
For folks exiting to FAANG / Product at start ups or really any hot company. How do you go about networking to get the interview? Do you apply then cold email someone you may have an “in”with, or are you picking say 10 companies and then having warm contacts there that you’ll ping when you see a job. I’ve been passively looking for jobs but zero luck, I only want to leave for the right fit. Big 4 here so feel my brand won’t auto get me an interview like mbb/t2
Does anyone else find it absolutely hysterical that people group MBB/FAANG/PE/VC for the prestige-oriented folks and they never include BB IB 🤣
My husband is a director in the industry with 12 yrs of exp. Currently 36 yrs old. Sick of his industry and wants to get an MBA. Told him go for Exec MBA but he thinks its less prestigious so...
