Option 3: start a side hustle in something you’re interested in to occupy your time and keep the good paycheck coming to fund it.

Agree!!! Having a steady, predictable job actually helps finance your way through on what you want to do … like you can do a masters degree on the side / do the side hustle which would require initial investment…

3 years is a long time when you’re bored.

Think about what you could accomplish is 3 years! Who you surround yourself with matters, push yourself don’t be complacent. As for compensation, there are companies out there that will pay what your making or more.

I’ve quit a job where I made good money because I was bored and it was a toxic environment.. but the boredom was ridiculous

I’m in that same boat myself. Not an easy choice. The answer to that question will depend on your values!! I’m trying to stay for at least a year since it’s a new industry and exploring side hustles. My two cents- Start a side hustle that you’d consider doing long term or jump ship! Life is too short to be bored.

Do what you love or don’t do it. Money doesn’t change that. Now is a great time to get a new job. Or get a side hustle that you love and keep your high paying boring job….

I agree with Option 3 person. Consider that so many people are being expected to work long hours and have no work/like balance, let alone time to pursue side passion projects. This could be a really great time to explore while keeping the great paying, albeit boring, job.

Can you ask your manager to give you added responsibilities? Build out new initiatives such as DEI, retention and training? Don’t stay in your recruiting box and think of internal partnerships.

Did you keep your older child home from daycare when your second one was a newborn? I was thinking to at least keep my daughter home for the first two weeks so she can help bond with the baby , but my husband is worried that’s too much time away from daycare for her..that she’s already going to be confused and flooded with emotions that she should have her routine yet. I’m also a little worried about covid and any illness getting into our house with him being born in January.

Unprofessional post- I’m seeing my new coworkers in person for the first time this weekend because I was a remote hire. But I have gained so much weight since covid that I feel like people are going to be disappointed when they see me in person. Because my professional headshot is from 2 years ago and I don’t look like that anymore. What do I do? I really want to cancel.

I’m realizing I have a lot of fear—mostly related to health stuff and death. Feel like people are getting sick left right and center (not talking about covid). I’ve never had anyone close to me become very sick or die—don’t know what I would do if this happened. I’m also overly concerned about my health and seem to be at the doctor every month to get something checked. Can anyone relate or provide suggestions on how to overcome something like this?
