Not drunk or as brazen by I've been asked by a client in my ear (!), at dinner with whole team, if I'm wearing a thong right now. Another client asked me only to lunch on a random "just dropping by the agency" occasion (he's from SF, I'm in NYC, we had no idea he was in town), then tried to hold my hand at the table during the meal and told me, after asking me about college, "I bet you wore a lot of mini skirts then, wish I could see you in one of those". My boss was livid when I told her...

I once had a guy come up behind whilst I was at my desk, with him running his hand up my neck to the top of my head (I had short hair at the time) and then sat on my desk and whispered "I just had to do that". The rest of the team were male but nothing was uttered. He was swiftly told by myself that only my bf and hairdresser EVER touch my hair and if he does it again, I'll be reporting him to HR. In the same job, I was leaning over my desk to speak to my boss and an older married with kids guy slapped my ass. I'm talking 10am in the morning. I laughed because I didn't know how else to react. Safe to say I'm no longer there.

My old boss hit on me every day while his wife had just been diagnosed with breast cancer and then finally got kicked off the team and on his last day asked me where the line was between the two of us. I told him where it was and to F off. I still had to work with him for three years afterwards he did everything he could to be a miserable jerk to me. I eventually got promoted to be the same level as him which was intolerable for him after he passed me up for promotions as my manager in order to keep me as his direct report. I thought I was being a modern woman by trying to deal with it myself but I wasn't. I should have spoken up. Instead I told all the women he managed what happened and encouraged them to tell hr if he ever did it to them. I said I would go with them if they wanted me too.

As a male reading this it makes me sick. But also reflective. While i am confident ive never gone full rapey or physically grabbed someone inappropriately without consent, i cant help but think ive probably said something inappropriate to a few girls when i was younger and it guts me i behaved that way and on a macro level that culture has conditioned men this way. But im also inspired by this movement to show even seemingly "small" indescretions are still wrong and to help men contextualize their behavior from the female POV.

A coworker drove me home (to my husband and kids) after a going away party one night. When he pulled a move and I said no, he asked why he had driven me home if he didn't get to fuck me. I never reported him because people had seen me drinking, and we all know that song by heart.

Soo many stories. An EVP once told me I shouldn't have hurt the ECD's feelings when I shut down an inappropriate comment. My CD came into me after a night if drinking with clients; one if my clients used to make comments directly to me that were not only inappropriate but also racist. This was all at the same shop. It never stops....women deal with this behavior every day.

Sorry, meant to add, so thanks for recognizing that.

Holy shit. *came on to me. Fing edit button Fishbowl!

We've had a few threads about this and they're all brutal each time. ALL MEN must read!! This shit is happening to your mother, daughter, sister, wife, girlfriend... as we speak!!! It happened to your grandma, too!!

Several years ago I was at a happy hour. After a couple of hours (it’s never just one), one of my coworkers slung his arm around me and grabbed my chest. When I awkwardly tried to push him away, thinking he’d misunderstood, he turned me around and grabbed me with the other hand. I didn’t say anything for years. Then one night after some wine with another coworker I mentioned it. She said, “oh yea. He does that.” 😤😤😤😤

This is so disheartening to hear. I have 3 sisters and 6 nieces and I’m terrified that some jerk is going to do something like this to them.

I once was working with a freelance AD and went into the CDs office to do my halfway review as an intern. They asked how the AD and I were working together then suggested I have a threesome with the AD and his girlfriend. Then laughed and said “but if you do, please tell us.” I laughed but still gives me shudders.

Director2, as physically disgusting and mortifying as it is to be physically violated in any form, it is equally soul crushing to be demeaned emotionally or have your dignity as a human being erased with sleazy comments. Emotional trauma is very hard to heal and affects your psyche and behavior and confidence in real ways.

When I was 8, my 16 year old neighbor would take me into the bathroom and stick his fingers into my vagina. This happened a few times.

^ Holy fuck And I'm terrified of what this prick has grown up to be these days...

I proposed to account that they put together a few slides that help guide a conversation with a client. This client has been known to go off on tangents and provide relatively unclear direction. The call happened today and the account dir opened up the call by saying “X has some slides they want to share to help with today’s call”. Putting me on the spot. This call was by no means to serve strategic work, and I was there as solely as support. How would you have handled this situation?
