Do you need a healthcare-related graduate degree to progress your career in healthcare consulting? I majored in business/finance in undergrad and have 1 YOE at a healthcare boutique but am worried that I won’t be able to lateral without more schooling. Would I have a shot of lateraling to a big 4 healthcare group or a large Tier 2 consulting firm in the next few years without getting an MHA or some other graduate degree?

I really don’t like how people expect you to not say the truth but rather tell leadership what they would like to hear. I’m starting to think about applying to other companies. But how would you answer the “why are you looking to leave” question without bad mouthing your current employer?

Would you leave your current PE firm for a more prestigious that pays $100k-150k more but you are working 20-30 hours more? Currently at a firm where I see a long term path and I work 40-50 hours. Struggling if I should go for prestige and work and larger deals at bigger firms or stay where I am now. If I don’t lateral now I won’t have a chance in the future/ much harder.

Currently in a non investing role making around 320K (6 YOE). Ex IBD experience. Have an investment team offer at a Family Office to do PE for significantly less cash (around half) + carry. I do have interest in breaking into investing. Is an opp like this worth it?

Am I the only one who has barely any work to do? I finish my work in a matter of a few hours, and spend my days bored out of my mind. Worst part is that I have to stay at the office until 8PM min, because otherwise it looks unprofessional. I fear that they want to fire me or that they’re unhappy with my work, but at every quarterly review, I have nothing but praise with minor comments. I realise I’m lucky, but can’t help but feel guilty, like a fraud and bored.
