Best way to approach recruiting for ge/vc if not coming from the most prestigious background? 2.5 YOE (1.5 B4, 1 at CPG unicorn)
I’ve been working for the same company for over 7 years— I believe they have improperly categorized my coworkers and me as contractors. We are supervised, have regular hours, daily meetings, we’re expects to be working Monday through Friday, our work (editing and writing) is essential to the operation’s purpose. They don’t pay any social security or unemployment. After complaining they have said they’d agree to make us employees, but with a pay cut. What should I do?
I need help getting in the right frame of mind for my evaluation. I'll have my first annual review tomorrow and I'm anxious about what to expect even though all signs point to positive feedback. Starting a new job during the pandemic, it's been hard to read people I work with remotely and only just started seeing in person. I've forgotten how to strike a confident but deferential tone in a meeting, especially one where I'm being scrutinized. What if I seem nervous & they think I'm not confident?
Audit manager here checking in how is everyone doing? I feel like there is such high expectation from everyone these days. Client services 40/45/55 hours and all these nonsensical cluster activities, trainings and cohorts on the top of that. I don’t think I can handle this anymore. When I speak up about it, I am told my leadership that everyone is doing it, so you have to do it to keep up with the competition. I seriously just don’t want to give more than 40 hours of my time to this firm.
Are there any single gay guys in this bowl?!?!

Hey everyone, French here. I’ve been coding for my all life (10-15 years) and have 6 YEO professionally (without internships). I feel like to move on in my career by upgrading to a SE/SA path. I always love problem solving and I am obsessed with detail. I don’t have any opportunity in my current company, so I am wondering where I should start to make the transition. What skills do I need? I feel like needing more responsibilities and having a valuable job.
Also, any ref?
I've been in full cycle sales for over 7 years now and would like to become a Sales Engineer. I am currently in Cloud sales and looking to transition into becoming a Sales Engineer...how do I become one since I have not technical background?
Any technical sales engineers with Honeywell or Honeywell UOP out here?
Joining the company in a month and would love to get to know more about Honeywell.
I am currently doing federal business development and am interested in applying my “sales” experience to tech in the form of a solution/sales engineer. What is the best type of tech to learn for a solutions engineer career path? (Ex. Back end dev, data engineer, etc.) Also, let me know if this sounds stupid all together lol
Interview tomorrow for a Principal SE at a tech company. 6YOE as a tech analyst, promoted to manager, and 5YOE client facing. Wish me luck in knocking it out, and feel free to provide any pointers! This would be a game changing role for my career.
My company fed me up today. What is the best pay I could aim for as a sales engineer with 15 years in financial software and SaaS, 9 years as sales engineer. Achieved more than 100% sales for 7 years out of 9. Let me know. I have a MSc in engineering.

Anyone working in AI? I have a AI Startup recruiter reaching out, curious how's business? CRM is getting kinda boring and I'm interested in branching out.
Hey everyone! I recently graduated this past December and started my current role January 24th. Just this morning I had a recruiter from Meta reach back out to me about a role I applied too last month. Should i schedule an interview with the recruiter? What if it goes well? Would it look bad if I quit my current position to take this role if I end up getting an offer? One reason I would want to switch is because the pay would most likely be a lot higher at Meta then in my current position.
How does value engineering compare to being a sales engineer? Have an opportunity to make the switch (still relatively early in my career) , but unclear how comp differs down the line.

There’s always a longer path here. Senior SE have 15 yoe. Engineering Lead, Engineer Manager, Technical Fellow are the roles who hold 25 yoe. My manager has 22 yoe. On top of, once you become level 62, you have the freedom to explore roles abroad and apply and move there. No process can stop you. The Organization is beautifully structured here.
