Is moving from Senior Consultant title to Product Manager title a lateral / backwards move? Job description for PM role says 2-5 years experience, yet I have 5.5 in consulting (albeit not in a product environment). Trying to determine if transitioning from my current role as a Manger, Strategy for a ~100 person Fintech working directly with the C-Suite to a Senior Product Manager at Amazon would be a lateral, upward, or downward move. On one hand my comp would go up and I’d be in a bigger org with defined growth, on the other, I would lose the exposure to executives and influence over our corporate strategy.
