Midlevel Corp NYC big law. Received a mixed bag review during mid-year review. Even positive and negative. My reviews over the years have had peaks and valleys. Worried about consistency. Should I dip or at least start talking to recruiters? Didn’t get an action plan or anything but it was a “developmental message.” Besides obviously internalizing and correcting to get better- thoughts on whether I should start looking?

I have cleared the first round in PWC SDC (Data Engineering), Tomorrow is the 2nd round. Will that be a managerial round?

Any books/self help materials for someone who is constantly worrying (and waste a lot of unnecessary time)? E.g. No matter if i pass or fail an interview, there is always something to worry about. The worrying/anxiety multiplies when I proceeded further in the interview stages. Now that I signed the offer and is pending background checks, my anxiety is off the roof as it itches closer to my starting date.

I’m a nursing home administrator and things have become so challenging in the industry I’m thinking of making a career change but I’m totally lost as to what i should do! My firm does regular performance reviews and my stomach is in knots every time even though I always get “exceeds expectations” in every category and my senior attorney always writes the nicest notes, but I always get so much anxiety about it. This is a genuine question for people in Texas: what do you view as the role of state government? I ask because it seems like Texas can’t manage it’s own electrical grid system, yet, I would think this is one of the most fundamental and basic aspects of state government. I run a boutique law firm that generally represents large investment advisers F100 clients. Well we sued another large investment adviser and it’s getting some publicity however, I don’t want to be known as a Plantiffs firm. How can we manage that image while sueing a top RIA.

Lateraled a month ago and after two weeks a very young partner told me my work had “consistently missed the mark” which was not at all in line with other feedback I’ve received. I have my own criticisms for him, and I’ve since learned that most of my peers feel similarly about him. Notice etiquete question. If you give your 2 weeks’ notice on a Monday, is your last day a Monday (2 weeks later) or can it be the previous Friday? Does your answer change depending on the time (morning/ afternoon) notice is given?

If I don’t want to potentially burn any bridges, should I just have my notice period end on a Monday and just take that day out of my scheduled vacation before starting my next job?
