My friend had this problem with adderall. You need saliva to “cleanse” your mouth. She would chew gum or suck on a peppermint to make her mouth salivate.
I get a bit of dry mouth from a different medication and have been using therabreath mouthwash which is pretty good
Clean that tongue w/ a metal tongue scraper.
Xylitol discs, xylimelts they stick to the side of your molar and slowly melt, which triggers your saliva glands. I use them when I sleep due to a dry mouth. Dry mouth promotes tooth decay so def try to do something if only for that reason. I hate chewing gum, it annoys my jaw.
Dry mouth is a side effect of a medication I am on (not adderall). I asked my dr about it and she said the best thing is to stay hydrated. I do find that it isn’t as bad when I focus on drinking lots of water throughout the day.
There’s zero logic behind this but I’m convinced drinking sparkling water makes it better. For me anyway…..

My dentist actually told me not to drink seltzer with a dry mouth—sorry! Flavored, anyway… maybe mineral water is okay.

Oh, definitely. Chew sugarfree gum with an ADA seal, drink and swish with fluoridated (tap) water frequently. There are mouthwashes and toothpastes specifically for dry mouth too.

Biotene dry mouth rinse.

Is it really different from/ more effective than regular mouthwash?
I do with Vyvanse. I've started using Salivea (the original Biotene formula, you can get it on Amazon) and it has helped. I also chew gum and drink lots and and lots of water. I don't necessarily get dragon breath if my mouth is dry, but I get irritated with cottonmouth to the point it's distracting. Plus, chronic dry mouth is tough on your teeth. Taking care of teeth stuff with ADHD can be tough but that's one thing you don't want to pay the ADHD tax on. I keep floss at my desk and some xylimelts (like gum, kinda, except it just melts in your mouth and helps with the dryness and has a nice minty flavor) with me too.
Therabreath (or similar brand) xilitol mints were a game changer for me
